Shane Morris highlights of Jr. year

This kid is a beast, as we all already knew. He has a rocket for an arm and some very good mobility. Watch the video and lay your Fred Jackson praise on the future Wolverine star.

I think the main issue is that if a lefty is at QB, right tackle becomes the most critical spot for pass protection instead of left tackle.   Down the road, if he's our clear-cut #1 QB, we'll probably put our best pass-blocking tackle on the right side.

Strengths: Quick release Athleticism Doesnt stare down receivers Finds second or third reciever Good footwork Arm Strength Competative nature Weaknesses: Need to add more muscle Decision making (forces throws) Throwing on the run when he can't set feet He's got all the tools and attitude to be a star after a year or two at Michigan.

I'm not a professional scout by any means but what I agree with on your list, which I think is huge, is that he finds his second or third target.  He does it very quickly too.  As a part of that he seems to routinely find the hot route or just flat out open man.  He can also put it right on him.  Pretty good stuff if you ask me.

Michigan became "Quarterback U" in the nineties and 2000s, sending Collins, Brady, Grbac, Henson, Griese and Henne to the pros (and Mallett was next).  While it's been a great ride with Denard, it's exciting to see UM going back to the pro-style offense, and recruiting pro-style QBs like Morris.

I don't think that we will run an exclusively "pro-style" offense.  We will use whatever skill set our qb has which for Morris is his arm.  For Gardner, I still think we will run a lot of the same plays.  What I was most encouraged about this video is Morris's mobility which I think is pretty important although not completely necessary (Stafford).

loved the tape but kept wondering why they needed to indicate where he was standing at the start of each play.  he's the qb-i'm not looking for him to line up split wide
