Shameless Plug for New Blog

Submitted by jcorqian on

I have decided to start a primarily football-based blog called The Rational Idealist.  Content-wise, it'll be very different from the Michigan blogs we know and love.  I won't be focusing on recruiting or coverage of games or anything like that.  The premise of the blog is more on the thoughts and observations of a rational fan looking at college football (not just Michigan) through a logical lense.  The first post is on why divisions within conferences is a terrible idea.

I figured this might be of interest to some of you guys, so I decided to post it here.  I'm always open to feedback, so if you have any comments just let me know.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and comments.  I appreciate all feedback.  If you guys were interested in the article, a guy made some pretty good counterpoints to it in the comments.  I responded, and hopefully we'll get a good discussion going.

The name isn't set in stone, but I think it works as a catch all for all the other things I plan on discussing in addition to college football.  There will probably be a lot of random shit.

Thanks for reading.

I created a Chrome extension that allows you to help make MGoBlog money. It's available here and it's called Philanthropist. Since MGoBlog participates in the Amazon Associates program, you can use the extension to make sure MGoBlog gets some kickback for any purchase you make on Amazon. Just install it and configure it to use mgoblog-20 as the associate id.

For more information about the extension, check out the splash page.

And yes, I feel like a dick for this being my first post, but I've been a long-time lurker and I thought the MGoBlog community might be interested in this as it's an easy way to support the blog.
