it's a privilege to work on the 4th, Memorial Day, Christmas, etc... If I'm on watch it means the rest of my guys are home with their families, and I still get to make sure that people out enjoying the holiday on the water are looked out for.

I've been at work 12 hours, but barely did anything. I'm an EMT and fortunately we didn't have many runs. Easiest double-time pay I've ever made. And still have the evening to enjoy with my family.

Cancel all my 4th of July weekend plans up north with my family because I got Montezuma's Revenge from my honeymoon. It's been 5 days of literally pooping my guts out while everyone has fun in the sun. Worst. Independence Day. Ever.
