Tressel will say "We will get to the bottom of this and the truth will be known. Any player who broke any major rule will be severely disciplined." Then on New Years Eve, "We have performed an in-depth investigation, we hired psychics and we know the whole truth. No major violations occured."

This is the same type of talk Dantonio did over Rucker.

Fuck Ohio State and Fuck Little Brother too.

Not to defend OSU, but it's absolutely stupid that these players will get punished more severely than Cam Newton was.

Not so much worried as annoyed. I mean, if the guys are out the guys are out. Even if we beat Arkansas by 700, SEC mouthbreathers will just make an excuse about "They're and SWC team" or some other nonsense. There's no national title on the line...so...I'd like to have a win, but it won't kill me if it's a loss.

I'm mostly just annoyed that ESPN has jumped on a story with zero evidence (Bucknuts reported it...Dave Biddle's reporting is worth about as much as my autograph). There's a claim by a guy who is getting nailed by the IRS, and no hard evidence. So I'm very irritated that ESPN is acting like OSU players kidnapped the Lindbergh baby and the NCAA is jumping on this like white on rice when they couldn't be bothered to do their damn jobs when there was a mountain of evidence against, say, Reggie Bush. Or Cam Newton.

What bothers me is that the NCAA can't be bothered to actually consistently apply the rules and punish teams when they break the rules. If OSU players broke the rules, then they should be punished. But so should everybody else.

As we all likely learned by the end of high school, that sometimes the truly guilty get only slaps on the wrist because to pursue anything more risks upsetting an entire system. Those who try to keep their noses clean get a boot on the neck "as an example to others."

And, its not just Cam Newton. Look at Wall Street, Congress, ....

Tattoos are a lot harder to hide or deny later than "golden handshakes."   I wish OSU would get caught for some of the major violations they commit on an ongoing basis.  It only takes one zit-faced reporter with an axe to grind....

I've always wondered how these division 1 athletes get the money to pay for their tattoos.  Some of them have a lot of work done and it's not cheap.

Sometimes living off campus. If you elect to live off campus, even if you are on scholarship, you get the refund for the room and board. At some universities, this check is substantial. If you were to pair up with one or two of your buddies on the team, now all of you have a fat check and only so much rent to pay. This is a legal and permitted way of getting money that is done at every college or university nation wide.

F**k the Bucks, obviously, but f**k the NCAA moreso. Nickel and dime us to death for this kind of stuff, or for not counting 20 minutes of stretching each week, while some schools (let's not name conferences) will sign 40 kids per class and find a way to cut them from scholarships eventually.

Just drop your non-profit status and acknowledge that you're a cash cow (e.g., advertisements for every break in play in every game in the bball tournament) and I'll be ok.

Let's say Pryor's one of the guys. If he suspends Pryor for the bowl game, does he risk pissing him off enough to send him to the NFL early? Does that affect Tressel's decision?

Kansas State is having the same problem with their basketball program.  Their players are getting more than just a slap on the wrist.  Pullen has been suspended for 3 games.  It'll be interesting to see how the NCAA handles this.

EDIT:

I'm no genius, but I think the last thing you'd want to do is talk about this if your a player

Per TPeezy2 (aka Terrelle Pryor):  I paid for my tattoos. GoBucks

I really want to be mad and indignant about this, but these guys really shouldn't be punished much if at all. A bowl suspension would be way too much. I really wish the NCAA would focus on oversigning and things that actually matter.

Oh god.  I said this on another board: WHO CARES? Why is it that everyone can make money off college football and these kids can't even a get a tattoo? You want these kids to stop acting like celebraties? Take college sports off ESPN, keep the stadiums smaller, no more TV deals, no more using their "likeness" to sell jerseys and video games.  NCAA hypocrisy really pissess me off.  I've been in resturants and bars in Ann Arbor where UM players have been told their money is no good here.  It's not like they even did anything.  Pay cover at Ricks? No way.  Free drinks and skip the line.  Who cares?
