I think a common mistake made here is assuming that MGoPosters are a representative cross-section of the Michigan fan base, and the opinions here carry over into the mindset of the rest of Michigan fans.  I think that is wrong for a variety of reasons.  The readers here tend to be the most die-hard Michigan fans, not the average guys who follow Michigan when its on ESPN or in the local papers.  Sadly, the latter outnumber the former by a huge amount.  Second, opinions expressed here (especially by Brian) tend to be adopted by most of his readership as fact, while the average Michigan fan probably believes something completely different.  See: Harbaugh's academic comments are a negative, Les Miles is evil and hates his players/is unfair/is sleeze.  While there is some truth to those things, I think that the average Michigan fan would completely embrace either one of those guys.  Blame it on the media, or on lazy fans, but ask the next guy you see at Pistons or Red Wings game about Mile's oversigning or Harbaugh's comments, and be prepared to get quizzical looks and be told that those guys are "Michigan Men" and should be coaching in Ann Arbor.

I'm talking about people close to the program.  Some do not like Miles (it is believed that Lloyd Carr is one of those people) and to a lesser extent dislike Harbaugh for various reasons (those comments probably chief among them).  My initial point was that hiring either one of them upsets enough people in and around the crusty athletic department and both have quality resumes such that I'm fine with either hire.

If Hoke gets hired it will only be because those same people who are divided in their personal opinions regarding Miles and Harbaugh all seem to think Brady is a swell guy.

There was a story about a freelance film maker who got his Google Adsense account terminated (and funds he had earned were revoked) because he violated Google's TOS by encouraging his blog readers to click ads.

I'm not sure what Apple's iAd TOS says, but please be careful, I'd hate to see you lose money over this.

EDIT: link to the story here

good point.  click what you're interested in, don't go crazy.

There are lots of reasons I'm not concerned (or click rates are very low, I rotate through numerous ad companies, etc), but your point is valid.

Ya  it's better information than any I have recieved up to this point because my dad says it sounded DEFINITE the way he was told so to all you UM fans.. hold ur breath cause LM is coming no joke and the 419 got the info firstt TOLEDO. I don't have the quotes direct from the agent but my dads friend did so I feel as if its going to happen. DB has already made it perfectly clear he will pay top dollar and I think Miles may make 3.9 million? So we can throw the Benjamins on the table. GO BLUE

Really?  You sure about that?  My dad's friend heard directly from Pelini's agent that the Hamburglar was going to be our new HC and that he was bringing in Scruff McGruff and Smokey the Bear as our DC and OC, respectively.

You need to check your sources man- this is money.  Book it.

(in the event that you are somehow right about this, which would mean that Miles comes to UM and Pelini goes to LSU, I'll owe you an apology...)

The jobs he's being offered by the two schools are very different.  One is stay at Stanford an extra year, get a big raise, have a good year with a team you know is good, then try again at the NFL level.  The other is at least a 5-6 year commitment if he's serious about it.

You guys are fools it's hard to put everything into direct words but here I go. My dad's work partner has a friend in the AD. The man in the AD talked to pelinis agent. His agent made it clear Miles to UM pelini to LSU. This information was later told to my das work partner who told him. So thats the whole story. Its hard to type rather than explain but if it doesn't happen it was fun trying to milk it but if it does we can say we told you so.

Reggie, you may be right, you might be wrong.  No offense, but with single digit MGoPoints (currently 6), you're going to have a hard time convincing the 'masses' because you don't have much cred on this Board.  Thanks for the info, though.  And, for the record, I hope your Dad heard things incorrectly.

Much 'cred'? I've heard half a dozen people with sources "inside" the AD and everyone has a different answer. The guy's a troll.

Evidence:

Hearing from a fifth party if I've followed the train correctly...New member....I mean really new member.....Has some inexplicable obsession with Toledo and the number 419....

Let me get this straight, somebody in the MIchigan AD needs to find out from Pellini's agen that LM is coming to UM?

Now go create another username and come up with a better story next time.

EDIT: Site fail on the reply. It is obviously not a reply to elaydin. It is a reply to the troll who claims LM to UM and BP to LSU.

we could get Les to test the grass in Bolivia. I'll make you a deal; If you lace it with something strong enough to knock that clown out, I'll spring ya! I'll bring you back instead of him and we will be rid of the guy for good!

It's a win/win. You'll be back in MGoparadise and Les will be stuck in Bolivia where he can finish out his coaching days calling plays for the river hogs or the puma's or something.

You can't put together a grammatically correct sentence.

And you call us the fools?

Furthermore, don't get angry when people are skeptical about fourth-hand info. You may have wonderful sources, but it will always be looked at as unfounded until REAL sources emerge.....

How sweet would it be if Harbaugh and Brandon set this thing up to wait until Wednesday. Then, at the UM basketball game versus OSU, Harbaugh stealthily sneaks into the arena. And, in an ode to the Tressel/OSU hire, Brandon brings Harbaugh out right before the game starts. All the TV cameras zoom in on Harbaugh and the announcer introduces him as the new head coach. Mass hysteria in Crisler and the dawning of a new era.
