Senior Night v. Minnesota Open Thread

Submitted by BlueintheLou on

Down 9-7 6:20 into the first frame. Let's send the seniors off with a win in Crisler. Go Blue!

Congrats Anthony and Deshawn.

Edit: Oh man, totally forgot Gibby was a senior. So long, Gibby! You were fun to watch.

A few games ago a poster came on here saying he had given up on this team. He was totally bashed for it. Based on the lack of participation in the open threads since him it definitely looks like he's not the only one. I felt bad for that guy because he was just being honest. I feel like he deserves a MGoApology.

Anyways, it's sad to see DeShawn go. All the crap he had to endure this season and he was still our best and most consistent player. Hope to see him make it to the bigtime.

I like our halfcourt defense. I feel good about this game as long as we don't continue to give up points in transition.

Manny goes off on 4 straight possessions. I like.

I mean, it is hard to fault people who have "given up" on the season. I mean, in all honesty, I have removed my emotional investment. I still watch and cheer, but I don't get affected as much by the positives or negatives, merely for my own sanity. It's been a roller coaster ride.

I can't wait until we have an actual good-shooting team. When teams don't sag off our shooters, the backdoor will be open all day.

The year has been a disappointment, but that doesn't stop me from turning on the tv and watching Michigan basketball. On another note I like the way the team is playing tonight. Hope we can win one for the seniors and maybe get some momentum for the big ten tourney. GO BLUE

how fun it could be to watch basketball. Nice to see the shots go down. Some great early defense by Ant Wright and Gibby. The announcers are awful tho. They can't seem to tell the difference between our man and zone defense.

This is the team that was ranked pre-season #13. Solid defense, great offense. I will truly miss Sims, and even some Wright and Gibby too.

53-35 U-M 16:00 left

Deshawn has 16 pts on 7/12 shooting. He's going out in style

Poll question: This team has no real weight on their shoulder. If they hold on here, roll into E. Lansing remembering how fun basketball can be, do they spring the upset? Certainly possible. Would be a fun end to the regular season.

This team is just plain fun to watch when they're on. They've ripped my heart out a few (read: a dozen) times this season, but dangit, I still love them.

If they can play as good as last time vs sparty (without the ref helping msu) I think they can do it. You also have to factor in that its on the road, and msu knows not to take us likely. (see the 1 point win back in January)
