I can't believe we even have to have requests for this.
Senior Day - Don't Boo
It's just sad.
It didn't turn out so well
Does this picture have some kind of story behind it? WTF
A Michigan Fan was jumped by a Sparty Fan. (cheap shot, no surprise).
Broken nose, missing teeth *and* $180 to a scalper for counterfeit tickets, all in the same day?
you just happened to see them at Purdue.
Probably need to remind them to not piss in their soup....
You heard this conversation between two douchebags.
You did NOT hear this conversation between two Michigan fans.
I haven't been to a game in a long time, has anyone been booed on senior day? Besides the drunk retards, I don't believe our fans would do that.
I've been to many Senior Days and can't remember it ever happening.
I can't believe anyone would even think to do this
They are saying Mooooouton!
Or Boo-urns. I couldn't decipher it.
Poor Hans Moleman, such a kind soul, but always getting the short end of the stick.
they were talking about how they planned to boo Ezeh
Stupid jackasses. Obi Ezeh has some defensive deficiencies, I get it...but he's a Michigan Man and a damn sight better at football than I ever was...
I would encourage fans like that to please remove themselves from the bandwagon and get the hell off my lawn (in best old man voice).
will be the parent who publicly berates his own kid for striking out in a t-ball game. Unfortunately, every fan base seems to have some of these spittle-flecked losers.
i cannot think of which has more whiffs than hits: said t-ball game or michigan's defense against Iowa/MSU/PSU.
Berate your kids privately for crying out loud.
if you strike out in t-ball you deserve all the berating your parents can muster
"DAMMIT TIMMOTHY! if you even think you are watching Hannah Montana tonight you have another thing coming! EYE ON THE BALL!"
I hope those two fans saw the way Obi played his heart out against Purdue and realized this kid has the mind and courage of a true Michigan Wolverine. Reguardless of what he's done in his whole career at Michigan, good or bad, he served our program with relentless effort and that gets all of my respect as a die-hard Wolverine fan.
is never justified, IMO. Obi Ezeh has worked hard for four years and deserves a happy sendoff.
I booed Tropp every time I saw him on the ice last season. And I think that was damn well justified.
I am sure I have done a lot worse then boo Tropp.
There are definitely some actions that student atheletes make that are worthy of booing. But not playing well enough is not one of them.
Exactly. Booing a player for poor sportsmanship or a bad off the field incedent is sometimes justified. Booing your own team for performance is never justified. It never does any good; they know when they're playing bad and fans need to try to encourage them to play harder, not bring them down.
but hey, I gotta be honest here. What Corey Tropp and Andrew Conboy did was horrible, no doubt about it. Rick Comley did the right thing and kicked them both off the team.
Corey Tropp wanted to come back, and Comley set some very high goals that Tropp had to meet before he would be allowed back. Tropp worked hard and did everything the coach asked of him and more. Tropp was truly ashamed of what he had done. He did earn his way back onto the team and played hard. I was amazed at his turnaround. (I also read somewhere that he personally called Steve Kampfer and apologized, but I can't find that article.)
Guarantee you that those two terds aren't even on MGoBlog anyway.
It's about effort. He has tried his best, and often has been the best we've had to trot out there. And against Purdue, he even made some nice plays. I even saw him make a tackle within two yards of the LOS!
His last game is classless. Sure Ezeh didn't play well but he still tries his best, practices hard and has put in a tremendous amount of work wearing the Maize and Blue. I'll be in the stands to cheer all the seniors.
Im not one to starts fights, but if someone actually did that to ezeh then they deserved to get roughed up
I'm leaning toward castration. Or at least having their season tickets revoked. Booing anyone who is giving their all for the maize and blue is behavior that belongs in EL or Columbus, but it definitely doesn't belong in the Big House.
I can't understand why anyone would pay good money to go and boo the home team. At the very least, they could donate their tickets to veterans or indigent children.
At least somebody shares my sentiments. I haven't been in a fight, but I would throw punches for this.
They should really go up and boo in Ezeh's face, see what happens then...
I would never boo Michigan, period. I don't boo my teams, my school. It reflects poorly and is a slap to the face of the team. The countless hours of practice, dedication to the university by Obi far exceeds anything I've ever done for it.
A guy that sat directly behind me during the U of I game booed Tate after he fumbled.
I called him out on it by simply asking "What are you booing about?"
Let's just say he was not happy with me. Unfortunately, I have to deal with this Negative Nancy every game.
I find it sad because the same kid that he booed earlier in the game put his heart on his sleeve for Michigan and played a MAJOR role in winning that game.
you're preaching to the choir here.
but if anyone boos a michigan player on saturday - i'll find you, and then...
I'd posbang you like a hundred times for that. Russell Peters rocks.
Any player that puts in the time, effort, and commitment it takes to play division 1 athletics for 4 years deserves their moment. Booing a player on senior day is not only classless, but shows a complete lack of respect for everything that the University of Michigan represents.
I only boo people who think everybody murders. If I hear you booing my players, I will be on the next plane to Michigan to rip out your vocal chords.
Will likely result in the same reaction as if you had asked Batman what he's getting his parents for Christmas.
Even if those assclowns effect their nefarious booing scheme, they'll be drowned out by the cheers of the other 110,000.
and hopefully a swift kick to the balls.
It might help to cheer louder for Ezeh than for anyone else, just to send a message to those f**kwit f**kwad f**kheads who would boo him.
It's just beyond me how any adult can see fit to boo 18 year old kids who are busting their asses to represent our school. You really have to be a miserable person to think it's ok to boo a bunch of kids.
It's also sad that there actually is a need for the OP's message (though probably for the majority of this blog's readership).
I think that all the other fans around that jackass would step in immediately and shut them up.
I wouldn't even worry about it being an issue. They'll get theirs if it happens.
If I hear anyone around me booing a player while they are being honored for their 4-5 years at UM, they'll be leaving with less teeth than they had when they walked in.
/Internet tough guy
then it is time to get their ass out. This senior class has perservered through three of the toughest years in the history of Michigan football. Stand up and give them MORE than their due...
Stay Class Ann Arbor.
game, Ezeh got the loudest cheers. He seemed really surprised and appreciative. Say what you will about his play, but the guy has stuck with the program through some tough times and has worked very hard.
Any "fan" that boos Michigan players/coaches at a UM game should have their fan card revoked and not be allowed back in the Big House.
Be loud and cheer for these kids who play their heart out every Saturday.
anyone who boo's the football players on Senior Day deserves a foot through the head.
Seriously, at some point this shit has got to stop.
While I'll admit, I have been on Ezeh's back for a while, booing him or anyone else in this senior class is disgraceful and classless. Never where maize and blue again if you even think of booing any of the seniors on saturday.
the terrorists win. And you don't want the Buckeyes to win, right?
The question I have is what will you do if this occurs in your vicinity? If you rough the people up that boo and you're around me then I'll flash you ; )
btw - did anyone notice the obi ezeh drive on saturday? i was at the game and it happened in the 3Q. obi made the tackle on the first two runs. then he batted away the third down pass. then purdue punted.
i was really happy for the guy when the D left the field after that third down.
It's a shame that this even needs to be said, but there is absolutely no justification for booing these seniors on Saturday.
These seniors have been through a lot more than most classes of Michigan seniors. They went through a coaching change and the two worst seasons of the last four decades. Through that adversity, they stuck around while many of their classmates decided to leave. Like all the senior classes before them, they represented our university well for four or five years, and they deserve our respect.
I know that I'm going to get in the face of anybody that I hear booing during the Senior Day introductions and I'd encourage everyone else to do the same.
I would like to say that there would be no reason to boo obi because ha had a pretty good game last Saturday.
As frustrating as the past few years have been for the fans, you know it has been way harder on the players, who put it all on the field every Saturday, and going through four or five years of sacrificing your body every Saturday for the school, fans, alumns, etc is only worthy of cheers from everyone at the stadium, hell, if Broekhoisen or however you spell the kicker's name were a senior I'd cheer him too, I know they are all doing their best.
my post posted twice, filling in the empty space, I'm just a little toasted...
It is low class to ever boo your own team.
That's shit that belongs in the SEC.
Honestly, only mgoblog readers and/or very intelligient football viewers are smart enough to know that Ezeh is not a very effective MLB. To the average fan, he is a 5th year senior and 4 year starter who is a true Michigan Man. Maybe that;s for the best. But I will give him a standing O along with everyone else.
