I asked some of my MSU friends if they would be rooting for Michigan this weekend and they said no. It is just another example of how all State fans hate Michigan more than they like their own team.

If Michigan beats OSU, and MSU beats PSU, then New Years Day bowl. If, however, PSU beats MSU, then we aren't in any better position because we would be tied with PSU and Iowa at 8-4. We MIGHT get past Iowa in the selection process, but if we don't then we are still 6th in line and Insight-bound.

I'm more concerned about beating than Ohio State then sending Michigan State to the Rose Bowl. If anything MSU goes to the Rose Bowl, plays a better team, gets bent over and the reality finally sets in to MSU fans that their team is good not great. So win win for us.

I think it would be great if MSU went to the rose bowl and played either TCU or Boise State. I believe that if Oregon plays for the national championship the Rose bowl is then required to take an at large bid. I think TCU or Boise State would pound MSU into the ground and that would be very funny.

My ma taught me that a good big brother takes care of his little brother. If they're best season in the last 40 years puts them on the cusp of the Rose Bowl, they've earned the right to play in the bset bowl of them all. So congrats to them. And I'd love to be able to say "you're welcome" because of our biggest win since January 1, 1998. Besides, I'd much rather see Sparty go to their first Rose Bowl in 20 years then see Bielema or OSU go.

I don't think they're an incredible team, but they've won. If Michigan won a few more games on fluke plays or because of opponent meltdowns we would be pushing for the Rose Bowl every time. It's not a different situation just because they're MSU.

My vote's for them. Either way, I think the point is championship caliber teams have their fair share of escapes. It's definitely humbling to us that Sparty is way up while we are down, but give them the credit they deserve.

If we beat OSU this Saturday, how many UM fans do you think will honestly be thinking about who goes to the Rose Bowl.
I'm sure the first thing I will do is run home and check to see if MSU won and will be Rose Bowl bound. So, would you rather have us lose to OSU so that Wiscy can go instead? I am just curious here.
