Semi-OT Worst thing about Carroll leaving
The only negative about Pete Carroll leaving is that he reportedly taking his LBs coach with him. NO! He would be the perfect fit at UM, great recruiter, and made great MLBs.
No link, just what I have seen on ESPN.
P.S. Carroll leaving Haiku:
Pete Carroll has left,
And with his departure left,
Violations to clean,

Brian mentioned him as a remote possibility. I'm all for it.

The real worst thing about Carrol leaving IMO is Seantrel Henderson might be a lock to tOSU now.

The real worst thing is that nobody will be able to laugh at his inevitable annual loss to a bad Pac-10 team.
On the bright side, everybody will be able to laugh at his inevitable losses to bad NFC West teams.

Zing!

Nick Perry might decide he wants to go back home which could be good news for Michigan. I doubt he does but you never know.

The speculation on the USC roster and recruits about how we can fit them all in at Michigan.

The silver lining on Urban Meyer staying at Florida is that Shariff Floyd will not be in Columbus for the next four years annoying our O-line.

My heart was racing, it's bittersweet he didn't go to OSU but Damn UF. What the hell is going on in FLA. Note: I know it sad when I TiVo high school games to obsesses over possible UM Kids. "Hi, my name is Adam and I have an Addiction."

You mean the worst thing is not going to be the lack of Pete Carroll's twitter message about USC?
January 11th, 2010 at 7:57 AM ^
The worst thing is that it directly benefits ND. It was nice when they had a guaranteed loss on the schedule to SC.

USC isn't on Ohio State's schedule the next two years, so we don't get to see the Buckeyes get beat silly again and again and again. What luck.

Michigan will assume those responsibilities.

that Carroll will remain unbeaten against Michigan. I was really hoping Coach Rod would redeem us against him in a future Rose Bowl.
Oh, well. He'll have to beat some other Pac-10 chump then!

While he is currently unbeaten angainst UM, I don't think this will be his last go around in the college ranks.
I don't forsee him having a great deal of success in the NFL this time (much like his time in NE). I think in the pros they need a different kind of coach than the NCAA.
The whole good friend, come hang out at my house and chill kind of thing works good with guys that are 17-22 but he is going to have a challange with the egos he deals with in the NFL.
I think you have to be a bit more strict and demanding of your players in the NFL than in college. I give him about 3 years before he is looking for another job, and it won't be in the NFL IMHE. Then RR can break the streak against Carroll.

Au contraire, the bubbling allegations tend to indicate he has actually been coaching a pro-team for quite some time...

Who would have thought back at this time last year that USC would fall so low? Goes to show you that ALL teams go through rough times. Granted, USC is just starting to hit a rough patch and could come out fine, but all of this is hitting USC fans right smack in the nose and they are hurting big time. USC and South Central are really going to miss Carroll.

The worst thing is that Seantrel is probably a lock for Ohio State now.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
I agree, Seantrel being more of an OSU lock is by far the worst thing.

was no one else looking forward to USC - Stanford next year.
Harbaugh Carroll could have been fun.
Its a game i would have gone out of my way to see.
