Semi-OT: Michigan Basketball shoes

Submitted by Bo's Left Nut on

Does anyone have any idea where you can buy Michigan basketball shoes? Adidas is not helping. Anything like these works:

OR

OR EVEN:

I am looking for the Maize and Blue shoes that Beilein had on during Gameday. I have been looking for them in a size 12 since I saw them on Wheatley in a photo at Cass Tech.

Those were available for a short time after UTL III on MDen.

I scan of the website and an image search shows no results for it being for sale anymore. If you are really wanting it, give the main MDen on campus a call and they may have some since MDen has a TON of stuff at that store that they DON'T list on their site.

Good Lord those are hideous.  I mean I love my team but I really, really hate those shoes.

I know it's terribly old-fashioned but I'll take simple white or black Nike's all day long please.

At one point during the time Glen Rice was indeed at Michigan, I owned the ten-year old sized equivalent of those shoes - I sort of miss the style, to be honest. Still, I can't claim to have ever had quite that inside presence, the one where you appear to be sitting on the opposition as you go up for the shot.

They're cheap looking and ugly. To hell with Adidas. It literally prevents you from getting recruits. It's that bad...and before anyone bashes me...I could both high school football and basketball and Adidas is pretty awful in the minds of the majority of my guys as well. Switch back to Nike already and watch what happens.

Unfortunately, five more decades and some extra pounds have led me to discover New Balance.

Back in 1966, when I bought my first pair of low cut black Chuck Taylor All Stars, I think I was the first person in my high school to wear them. I suspect that lots of kids in the Boston area had been wearing them for many years before then.
