Semi OT: Maryland Baseball Coach leaves for VaTech

John Szefc, who succeeded Bakich as Maryland's baseball coach, has taken the same position at Virginia Tech. Building on Bakich's recruiting, he took the Terps to the NCAA tourney in three of the last four seasons.

Kinda weird to leave Maryland for VTech since they're probably similar schools in a similar region. Only thing I can think is that ACC baseball is probably a step up from Big Ten baseball

In addition to the ACC generally considered to be a notch up, there could be significant dollar issues. If I remember correctly, Bakich wasn't happy with the Maryland program, which is one reason he jumped to Michigan.
