Semi-OT: Keith Marshall sets 3 official visits (not Michigan)

Submitted by TNWolverine on

On a slow day like this I was bored and began searching through our prospects on scout. I noticed that Marshall has set three visits to Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame. I normally wouldn't even post this, but it is such a slow day and Notre Dame is involved so I thought you all would like to know. I hope ND doesn't get this kid.

I hadn't thought about it, but Marshall is the type of RB that ND has been getting for some time now, stylewise.

I wasn't overly hopeful or anything, but I wouldn't have been surprised if our influx of O-lineman had let him to put us on the short list. Even so, I had always heard that he was likely to play in the southeast somewhere . . .

michigan football recruiting benjis site, WES BROWN has us in his top two. Now at 6 foot and 200 lbs i would surely not mind that kind of back. Not to mention he is teammates of stefon diggs and also we snagged countess from there last year. If you pay attention to just stars you want keith marshal if you pay attention to what has been seen at camps brown has killed it. I know i will see link link link but i am on my phone and no it is not a smartphone. Go to the link michigan football recruiting browse the comments. If you want further proof go to browns rivals profile.

I didnt think we had a realistic shot with him anyways ..He seems to be more of a spread offense RB I dont think he could take the pounding of being a 25 carry a game back in the BIG 10

Uhhhh Dee Hart was a similar size and he saw considerable touches before getting injured. I am pretty sure Marshall will be fine. Making excuses for not wanting a kid because he didn't choose us is cry baby-ish in my opinion. The kid is going to be really good. It's a shame he didn't pick us.

How did you interpret my post as making an excuse of why I didn't want him? Im pretty sure I never said anything like that. I was agreeing with the poster who said he needed to add weight and since the average for a starting SEC running back is 217 pounds, he does need to add weight.

I disagree that he is a "spread" running back (a RB runs with a ball in any system) and I also disagree that he needs to add weight to be a running back in the SEC or B1G or whatever conference you deem to be more manly, or whatever. I am sick of people thinking a spread team is full of tiny kids who can't play football. Auburn - spread. Oregon - spread. Florida - spread. It is fucking rediculous to think a spread team can't be very successful in any conference.

I used to coach at Cedar Ridge High School in the triangle, and his coach told a group of us several times that it is a two man race between UGa big time ahead and at the time FSU.

If he ends up at anywhere other then Georgia I would be majorly surrpised.

I agree with the others that he's probably a Dawg unless something crazy happens this year with Reicht.  ND is probably on the outside looking in.

But if by some highly unprobable miracle ND starts 6-1 or 7-0 (emphasis on the miracle) with a victory over USC and Georgia has a slow start he is going to be Irish (iif Byron Marshall isn't already onboard).  Keith is really tight with current ND commit Ronald Darby and that plus Butch Davis getting fired at UNC has put us solidly in his top 2.

I also agree with the above poster who says he doesn't have the running style/build to take 25 carries a game in the Big Ten.  He is very much an APB who will likely work best in a split backfield where he gets ~15 touches a game.

If texas stays away from Mahone and the way the Marshalls look, ND should be in good shape at RB going into the season recruiting wise.  Just need to show them what they need to see on the field to keep that going

I had hoped him or Bri'onte for UM ever since I'Tavius Matthers dropped us and Donovan Roberts went Arkansas (why he did that I still don't know).  Maybe we can still get Garmon.  I like Brionte, but want to be in the hunt for an alternative Top Tier RB if Brionte doesn't man up and Go Blue!

By the way -- Notre Dame sucks balls!

Wes brown he is a top tier back. He is highly rated and has kinda gotten some rave reviews this past summer at the camps he has been at i think we sit well for dunn but do not for a second think he will be the olny top guy on our radar.

He may not be a dawg when he sees them have a down season again, including an opening loss at home to Boise State, haha.  I work with some Georgia fans and I can't wait to take their money when they lose to Boise State.  Richt will get fired and Marshall will end up somewhere else.
