if he'd only signed during the EARLY commitment period.
Pedo U and Ohlio? You only forgot Spartina for the trifecta of MLive-ian terms for our rivals.
MLive-ian? I've have heard Walverine or Wallmart Wolverine more than MLive-ian or whatever that is.
Agreed.
After the 1st rule of MGoBlog about things that should not be spoken there should be a second rule regarding derisive yet cheesy terms for our rivals that should not be typed (looking at you "OhLieO", "O$U" and "East Landfill" etc.)
was more on the "Title Says It All" Mantra.
Not sure what your point is...
Do you walk to school or do you carry your lunch?
Good to know that an anonymous-ish poster on the internet with the maturity to call PSU "Pedo U" and OSU "Ohlio" thinks a kid is making bad decisions.
ESPN 300 LB Josh Barajas (Merrillville, Ind.) tells me he has flipped his commitment from Penn State to Notre Dame. Big switch
— Tom VanHaaren (@TomVH) May 30, 2014
A big switch indeed. Merrillville is about 70 miles from South Bend, I believe, so I guess staying relatively close to home may have something to do with it. A lot of articles out there seem to point to Penn State being a bit desperate at LB, so this probably hurts them quite a bit.
Good. Since M doesn't play ND anymore, this is the best case scenario of an in-region flip.
See you never, Josh!
Interesting. We're also in a battle with Notre Dame for Asmar Bilal, another Indiana linebacker.
bringing Barajas on board make a spot at ND less likely for Bilal? Both ILB (MIKE for us UM nerds)...might work in our favor?
I don't see Bilal as an inside guy - I see him as an outside linebacker. Regardless, I believe Notre Dame would have room for Bilal, too, but it might change the perspective a little bit. Either way, he'd be entering a recruiting class with one ILB already committed (Kirkland for us, Barajas for Notre Dame).
I would hope no '15 LB recruit would be worried much about UM's roster. By NSD, the only guy with significant playing time who will still be here by their 2nd year is Gedeon.
Bilal is listed as an ILB, but I agree he seems better suited for the outside. Also, with Kirkland - I remember reading that some feel he will be too big for MIKE and might drop down to SDE...That would remove the potential for two "sorta ILB in this class"...or maybe I am mistaken.
I don't see Kirkland as a SDE. He's not long enough at 6'1", in my opinion. I mean, there are always exceptions in regard to height, but he would definitely be one of those.
Notre Dame is still recruiting Bilal. Bilal and Barajas are both looked at as OLB's. ND is going hard after Justin Hilliard for ILB.
Never thought I'd see the day the unstoppable recruiting super guru James Franklin would lose a committed recruit. Whats next, SEC teams playing games in Alaska?
Apparently someone thinks concussions are no joking matter...
Franklin lost a commit? They need to fire that guy asap! Clearly he has a problem with player development.
...and he has zero wins so far at Penn St, zero!
What a scrub!
Two months to change your mind? That's pretty impressive.
And no visits in between...just his prerogative, I guess.
flipped comittment?
This is not possible.
You are not comitted to anything you are just choosing that school as of now.
KIrkland > Barajas
UM >>>>>>>> Penn St.
Kirkland is the best player in Indiana
Barajas is from Indiana
Therefore, Kirkland is better than Barajas
BTW, I thought I read that Kirkland is going to start as a blitzing WILL and then move to MIKE, where he is 'prototypical'. Besides, I'd prefer to have an athlete who is 'prototypical' at one position rather than 'a pretty good fit' at several
Michigan linebacker depth >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PSU linebacker depth
200+ yards against PSU this year, mark your calendar
yeah, I know about our o-line
Late Feb, early March for both...Barajas didn't even visit in between. Obviously, Crawford did since the offer. Since Crawford verballed to UM so long ago, his Feb offer from ND is kinda like he "just recently" got offered.
