I upvoted all above comments for the chukkulz, but yeah - actually the selection show is kind of fun, and this is coming from someone who hates almost all sports jabbering.  An hour show, with ads, gives them about 30 seconds per team plus a couple minutes for a quick storyline.  15 minutes dedicated to each region.  I like it.  The two hours horseshit, I just taped it, went into the submarine, and then fast forwarded past all the gasbagging.  90 minutes is on the edge....I'll probably do the same again, but we'll see.

I look forward to insightful commentary by guys trying to fill 90 minutes reading from a one-page chart. Just release it on the website and move on.

Oh man, what a joke that was last year. You knew they were going to stretch it out to the point of insanity when there was two segments and two commercial breaks before they even announced the first bracket. It was a disgrace. They had to get the opinions of about eight different analysts of what they thought the brackets would be....while holding the actual brackets in their hands! Selection Sunday used to get right to what the public wanted to know. Now you can go to dinner and a movie in the time it takes to get to the last bracket.

Well, a small improvement from last year, I suppose.

Last year was a disaster - it does not take the opinions of 10,000 people for each pick to get a general understanding of why a team sits in a particular seed in the view of those who pretend to know. Just release the bracket and apologize appropriately to the bubble teams that now must contemplate their NIT invites.

I feel like 30 minutes is the perfect amount of time to release the bracket. I don't mind waiting a little to see the full bracket. The years we were on the bubble, the suspense made it that much more exciting when they finally called our name. Fortunately, I didn't begin following the team until recently, so I didn't have to deal with the disappointment of Amaker's teams.

Simply closer to the way it should be. An exciting show for sure, but that excitement only lasts 60 mins. I'm hoping that extra 30 gets cut off as well in the future.
