he grew a beard
Hole hasn't shown that he can coach up our guys. We played well yesterday, but we also blew out central last year. We won't know how good we are until we play msu
Or until we play, you know, a team ranked in the top 20. That will be such a long time from now.
Or in six days.
Don't feed the trolls.
We will know a lot more about this team after Notre Dame. That is going to be a hostile environment. Last game of the series for now, at night in South Bend. If we can win that game we could be in for a big season
Looks like your views are well respected around here....
Yes he has. Blake Countess, Jake Ryan, Desmond Morgan, Devin Funchess, etc. are not the same players they were when they arrived on campus. Sure, there have been some real issues, last year in particular, but holistically, I don't think you can say that Hoke hasn't shown the ability to coach up his players
Why are you so obsessed with Michigan you felt the need to make an account on here just to troll? If you don't have anything better to do then I suggest you go exercise.
So you see no signs that any of our players have improved through coaching? And you won't form any opinions until after 8 games?
Okay Doc. Kind of a coincidence that both the OP and this comment are from Drs
However I will say that we played well against a team we should have easily defeated yesterday. Our performance was par for the course as far as I'm concerned. Did we look good? Yes! Does it give me hope that we'll contend for the B1G? No. We won't truly know how good we are until we play msu. That's all I'm saying. There isn't a team on the schedule we should struggle with until staee. It's not a knock against our boys, I'm just ready to annoint us as B1G contenders until we see how we play against someone truly challenges us
I'm just going to enjoy the win and the fact we looked like a real college football team most of the game.
Yeah, your team looked good on Saturday.
Right, because we can learn absolutely nothing about the team from watching games against any other team besides MSU. Yup.
This sounds like a parroting of MLive logic.
We just can't learn anything from playing a vastly inferior opponent. Would I be a good doctor simply because I can diagnose the flu? Or would my ability to discern the number of coronary blockages from an angiogram be a better representation of my skills?
To say we can't learn anything, even from the App. St. game, is just flat out incorrect.
And by the way, no one on this board is going to be impressed that you're a MD. You come off as an obvious troll; whether or not that's your intention, or you're just that clueless, I'm not sure.
that is frequently used by MDs around the country.
I see your MGo points are off to a strong start. Personally I would advise getting +100 first before going to try the -100 but I am conventional. I like how you are going against the crowd.
He's a doctor. They don't need points - the nurses do all the injections.
We won't know how good we are after playing MSU either. They're like App St but in the other direction. And while UM blew out CMU averaging 5.1 ypc. This included Gardner's 7 ypc for over 50 yards and Norfleet's one carry for 38 yards. Smith averaged 1.7, and Fitz 4.1 ypc. This performance was significantly better than last year's.
You're the hole.
Can we ban this bozo yet? -87 points in one day
In the spirit of fair-mindedness, I have to ask as I have a role in making sure these things are mitigated around here - is your entire repertoire simply concern trolling or would you perhaps be willing to provide constructive insight now and again? If the former, do let me know and I will simply show you the door right now. Friendly warning, if you will.
Tell em' Steve Dave!!!
We can smell our own.
Had to log into the non-app site to give you the +1 for understanding the Mallrats reference... And I do say with all sincerity, "ah Gil, would you shut the fuck up."
P.S. The Easter bunny at the Menlo Park mall was more believable.
Some thoughts and opinions. However as most have been beaten death around here, our young and inexperienced o-line in addition to our lack of receiving threats outside of Funchess, I thought it was common knowledge. I'm just unwilling to change my expectations of this team based off of one game. If the board would like to hear my the details of my opinions, I'm more than happy to share them, but they are not profound or new. But they also don't make me a troll.
"We won't know much about ths team unil later in the year" is also an opinion that is not profound or new, and yet you chose to post that. It's ok to be a troll. You're not really fooling anyone.
"...lack of receiving threats outside of Funchess" For real, you think this is true? You haven't been paying attention. Not only is the "lack of receivers outside of Funchess" not only not common knowledge, it isn't even knowledge. The receiver corps is one of the strengths of the team.
Now, why you think anyone here cares that you are not changing your expectations is beyond me. An assertion that you ignore evidence isn't much of an assertion. The only actual assertion you make is wrong.
As a general note to the board, DrWolverine19 cannot hear you under that screenname anymore. His license to practice MGoBlogging was taken away due to gross etiquette negligence and blog malpractice. Seriously, when you respond to a warning about concern trolling with concern trolling, it's pretty clear someone is simply too bothered by the stick up their...you know...to even read what you said.
I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
last year poor teams stayed with us to the end and by luck we managed to win. This year we played a poor team and dominated them to the point of embarrassment. I would say that is considerable progress.
Won't know how good they are until they play Michigan.
Nah, clearly photoshopped...
Maybe he wanted some hotdogs.
So the big run came right after this?
Wear the headset, Coach.
No other explanation for the run.
getting in the coach's GD way! Hoke wasn't kidding!
I've seen Smith's blonde Bro-hawk before. I always get a good chuckle when I see it.
I think it looks cool on him. Anyone else???
I took this last year. If you look for it you can usually spot him with a headset at least once a game.
When the shit has hit the fan.
How do we know that Hoke doesn't have a small earpiece on with a small, camoflauge mic that performers wear during their concerts?
all kidding aside, he never wears a hat or for that matter anything on his head. i coached along time and i dont know how he goes without a hat.
