the saddest part of the article is in the comments section. One commentator makes an argument that the threat of terrorism is paralyzing and that we have to essentially get over it. The next comment? A someone who asserts that he/she is not trying to paint all Muslims as bad, but who nonetheless says that one of the largest Muslim populations in the country is near Detroit and that they could "blend in." Two words: Timothy McVeigh. I hope Oklahama is tightening security accordingly. You know, those white terrorists could "blend in." Christ.

http://www.mgoblue.com/genrel/060109aaf.html Prohibited Items Video Cameras and tripods Yes I realize most "regular" digital cameras can take movies now, doesn't matter. Stadium employees are pretty reasonable about the bag size rule (normally, unless a fan decides to get all bitchy) but be prepared for full-on prohibited items list policing this weekend. FYI it was this way shortly after 9/11. No bags. Period. Then they backed off and allowed only small bags in.

for going to a UM game is to take as little with you as possible. This usually means you'll have to spend more $$ on food and drinks, which bugs people, but it is what it is. Also check the weather - it may rain. NO UMBRELLAS. Bring a poncho. [EDIT] they won't confiscate stuff, they just tell you that you can't bring it into the stadium. You can walk your stuff back to your car or leave it at the bag check at Crisler.

This will make it tougher to smuggle in liquor. Will have to bring a pint flask and tuck it into the waistline I wonder how tight the security will be. Pat-downs? "Empty your pockets!"??? Here's an idea, brought to you be the YAF: Let everyone in the stadium bring in guns, so if they see a terrorist they can shoot the mofo on sight! Problem solved!

I have been working at the stadium on the expansion and you would not believe how insane they school has been on security for game day. If there is so much as a WD-40 can seen in any of the work areas someone is gonna get LaGarrett Blount-ed on Monday. They make all of the workers leave by 4pm on Thursday for the FBI walk-through, which includes bomb-sniffing dogs and probably royal Canadian mounted police ferried in from Windsor. If it was me, I would be more worried for Terrelle Pryor coming to town in November. He already admitted that he murders and steals and stuffs.

There has been some specific threat info about an attack on a public venue. The potential for inflicting a large amount of violence in a short period of time is large at the Big House. If something did happen, you can take it to the bank that there would be outrage at why more preventative measures weren't taken.
