I'm enjoying watching it at Buffalo Wild Wings, lots of Georgia fans.
It's nice to see they hate Alabama for the same reasons as us- Saban, St Saban Memorial Hospital, and oversigning

I was hoping for a 3-0 UGA win so we could see Oregon in the title game
Georgia is going to have to rally the troops here. Bama looked like they're on the verge of completely taking over
This is the going to end up like last year. Georgia starts off strong but fails to capitalize on a lot of opportunities given to them. Alabama comes out in the second half and goes on something to the effect of a 3-4 touchdown run.
But I think if Bama loses we may have to see them again in the Capital One Bowl. Not saying we would lose again but I'd much rather play another team. Although, I wonder how Gardener would fair in a rematch?
We won't see them in the Capital One Bowl. Bowls hate rematches and this is one they can easily avoid by taking 2 loss A&M or LSU
The Capital One Bowl would not take a rematch. The would probably let the Cotton Bowl take Alabama. Additionally, no one wants to watch another massacre.
but not a one of their top team has an offense worth a damn.. and its not a matter of the other teams D being so dominant. They are just not that dynamic
Johnny Manziel is like what's up dude.
Did you forget about Johnny Football?
Texas A&M (44.8), Alabama (39.0) and Georgia (38.0) each average more points per game than any Big Ten team.
Bama's offense looked pretty good against our defense.
I'm not sure how you figure that. There are some quality OL, QB, WR, and RBs all over the conference. You must also take into account the defenses they are going against weekly. LSU, Bama, Georgia, SC, FLA...those are some of the best defenses in the country.
And the no late hit call on Murray was bullcrap, especially after they had called a way less violent one for McCarron.
was 2 feet away looking straight at them!
LSU, Georgia, Florida, Bama..etc. Kinda forgot A&M was even in that confernce but i chalk that up to Big12 offense which hasnt died a slow SEC death yet.
Except that Johnny Manziel is a true freshman on a team that has a first year head coach...
Georgia and Bama aren't good offensive teams? They're both putting up almost 40 a game.
Are you getting your info from? Granted, LSU struggles somewhat on offense but the other teams? Have you watched any of them play? You sound ridiculous.
murray got killllllllllllllllllled
Georgia has a nice drive going.
Dawgs score. That drive looked great.
Man to have a back like Gurley. Guy can run through people.
So, if UGA wins this, I don't think the bowl people would want to subject the world to another Michigan-bama game this season. I think the bowl setup would go like this-
A 7-6 Wisconsin team wouldn't go to the Cap one ever. It will be Neb if they lose tonight or Alabama would get passed up for a different sec team. Michigan's a lock for the cap one if Nebraska wins tonight.
If the review confirms the call, it's a TD for Georgia on a drive that seemed rather inspired, to say the least. These sorts of things don't happen to Alabama often unless you're playing Johnny Football apparently.
...and it is TD Bulldogs. 14-10 after the PAT. It warms the heart to see Alabama with fewer points at any point in any game.
Trey DePriest just got trucked by the Georgia RB on that touchdown
Big blocked FG for a Georgia TD!! On another note when is CBS going to get a good broadcast team?
More I watch the more i want Georgia to win. Blocked FG to the house for UGA
HUGE blocked FG/ TD.
That was AWESOME
Georgia is playing inspired football here.
damn this game is actually entertaining
Fuck Alabama...that is all.
He is not Meyer, Saban is not going to have a "heart attack" if he loses the SEC Championship game.
Wow. Regardless of who loses this game, the real loser is ND... they're effed playing either of these teams.
I think ND probably plays either of these teams close. I know we hate ND, but they have a defense that will keep them in games. Also they beat the Pac 12 champ and also handled Oklahoma who could be the Big 12 champ. Not many teams have two wins over BCS game particpants.
I think the ND frosh QB will get the yips against these pass rushers. He has not seen that many D's as bug as these two teams.
Did they really beat Stanford? They will be able to play defense to keep them in the game, but their offense will not move the ball. Their QB will be exposed by either of these defenses. They only scored 16 points on us with 6(?) turnovers.
Yeah and Georgia lost to South Carolina by 4 TDs. Let's not go crazy here.
16 or 13?
Those offensive lines would ware ND's d-line out. They haven't seen a RB tandem like Georgia or Alabama has. Gholson would be eaten alive by those defenses. Give Saban or Richt a month to prepare for a Gholson and it will be ugly. The ND Rbs aren't big enough to run on defensive lines like that.
Concur. ND will be seriously out of its league in the MNC game.
Is pissed
Looking like the horseshoe up Notre Dame's ass is still there. I don't care if Georgia is winning this game, Alabama is the better team and I want them to win and then beat the everliving shit out of ND.
I don't understand the never ending love some people have for Bama. This isn't last year's team. Their defense has looked average against LSU and A & M. I honestly think Georgia is just as good as them.
Why the HELL would you want bama to win another nc? I'd rather have either Georgia or Notre dame over them again.
We don't really compete with Alabama over recruiting much...we do with Notre Dame. Most believe that Alabama is more likely to beat Notre Dame than Georgia is. Although we all kinda think both will beat them, we prefer the more likely win. Ultimately Notre Dame losing is what's best for Michigan, whoever that may be that beats them.
Why the HELL would you want Notre Dame to win another national championship EVER????
Yeah, it's cool that they still require their athletes to be able to write their own names in the dirt with a stick, but their fanbase is intolerable even when they go 7-6. For them to go 13-0 and win a championship is the worst possible possibility there is. Good luck getting ANY Catholic kid in the state of MI if the Irish think they want him first.
TO HELL WITH NOTRE DAME!!!!! That's why.
Obvious extracirriculars taking pAYce are obvious.
Lol I like how the wr couldn't have made the catch but tackles him anyways.
Smartest penalty to take in all of college football
True. But that ball was overthrown he wasn't going to catch it. I guess it's easier for me to see than a kid running full speed with a helmet on impairing his vision.
is he a nick saban slappy or what?
God danielson is annoying. WHOA WHAT AN SEC THING!!
8====D~ ~ ~ ~~SEC~~~
Obvious run up the middle is obvious and embarrassing.
I mean does anyone believe Notre Dame can beat either of these teams? BTW, if Alabama loses does it affect us going to the Capital One Bowl?
I believe they can. While I don't think they will be favored against either to say that they can't win is fairly absurd. If Alabama makes it through, I think ND's front 7 against Bama's run game will be a good matchup, and McCarron has not looked very good lately.
I really don't think either of these teams are that much better than ND. I don't think there would be much scoring, but as long as ND didn't turn the ball over the game should be close. Too many people are overrating the dominance of the SEC this year. ND has a better resume than either of these teams. Having said that I hope Georgia pounds them.
I dislike the SEC banter as much as anyone, but look how many teams they have in the top 10...Bama, LSU, Georgia, FLA, SC, T A&M. The only team I think that can play with any of them is Oregon. I'd hazzard to guess outside of Oregon the SEC has the top 5 teams all in their conference. Granted, the top team, Alabama, is not as good as last year, but they are all really strong teams.
Vegas does and they generally now what they are doing.
Really? Prepared to be shocked when watching the NC game.
Just like people should have prepared to be shocked when watching ND's games against Stanford and Oklahoma?
You can't compare Ok or Stanford to Alabama Oklahoma has spent the past few weeks barely beating average teams. Landry Jones implodes every time he is in a big game. Stanford does not have anything comparable to Lacey and Yeldon and somehow lost to Washington.
that means Georgia plays ND in the National Championship, which could mean 2 things:
1) ND has a better chance of winning a national championship (I think they'd match up better with UGA than Bama)
2) If Georgia wins the national championship, does that mean Ohio has a better chance of winning the AP national championship (not as much prestige with UGA)?
*Also, does that mean we play Bama in the Capitol One Bowl? Gulp.
God I hope not
Ohio will not win the AP national title. They have no conference championship game, no bowl game, and would not be able to compete with Alabama, Notre Dame or Georgia. I think there are quite a few other teams, like Oregon and Stanford, that would wipe the floor with them.
Ohio winning an AP title this year would be a disgrace to college football.
I think this will end up being the defacto National Championship Game.
Hey ND, the NCG won't be you guys playing an over rated WVU team led by Major Harris at QB, true story.
...a name I haven't heard since one of the last times I heard something about the CFL. His PARENTS advised him to leave after his junior year. Bless his heart...I hope he's not in jail as of this writing,
Why would he be in jail?
I hope this is our offense in 2014, or next year, whatever. But 2014 would be nice, too. Either way, manball is looming on the horizon.
I sure hope so. Their line + Lacey = dominant
Who is the featured RB?
Richt is a good man, and a GREAT recruiter who runs a categorically clean program (Fulmer Cup standings aside). He is a terrible game-day coach. He is the Lloyd Carr of the ESS EEE SEE.
Georgia at times looks dominant and then at times they look very average like when they got destroyed by South Carolina.
This is Georgia. They always have great talent and look dominant at times. They also typically get gashed and end up losing to well disaplined teams.
Ok I am rethinking the strength of the Georgia D.
wow just pure manball at its finest.
If this is the Borges offense with a damn good o line I think I'll be okay with it.
MANBAWLL
fucking drive by Bama here, they're already in position to tie or take the lead.
Man, I can't wait till we're able to run the ball like that
are half as good as Bama's o-line
make ingram's heisman campaign the least impressive one i can ever remember. i'd take richardson, lacy, and yeldon over him (and by me i mean the manball gods)
Really hope to see our running game look something like this in a few years
Ladies and gentleman.....
MANBALL at its finest.
if you had to choose btw what Oregon, Ok St , etc typically runs and what Alabama just did on offense... which would you prefer?
Bama ala UofM in the 80's and 90's.
unless we're behind, in which case we have an entire 11-man group of players who can run the oregon spread n shred
What Bama just did. It takes its toll on a defense, which will become very evident when ND plays one of these two. They simply don't have the depth to hang with them
I must say that I love what Bama can do and I like that we are heading that way to a degree, I really believe that starting next season we will start seeing us look like what we did in the 3 games before ohio where we over thought it and didn't take advantage of a beatable team.
I want Manball capabilities but I want to be able to do different things because of talent and scheme, yes, I'm greedy like that.
Bama.
Better question is can we even run run the kind of offense Bama runs as successfully considering the lack of oversigning and less talent rich area that Bama has.
No, it closer to a combination of Boise and Stanford. Ala San Fran off...multiple and gadget. I would say Hoke would prefer that style vs Borges philosophy.
Would I love to have a dominate power run game? In my epinion, hell yes! I disagree with Brian and many other posters. The best defense is a dominate run and time consuming offense. Both UGA and Bama are showing the world what's the best football in CFB. Great game!
In the ideal scenario (key word being ideal), this will be what our offense looks like going forward. Hoke wants a mammoth O-Line, and big, bruising running backs to tote the rock 20-30 snaps/game.
I don't think it will happen next year, even if we get Derrick Green, but as our O-Line begins to mature going forward, and as we begin to build depth, I can see Michigan having a similar offensive system. I think 2014 is when everything will really start to click. Not to mention that by that point, Mattison should have fully installed his defensive death machine.
But, as you pointed out, this is contingent upon Borges' competence going forward. I have faith that he can get the job done. For now.
Can our band and baton twirlers look that good as well?
If you are a fairly one dimensional run team.. when that isnt happening or your down by more than 2 scores you start to run out of options. That being said, its a ton of fun to watch when your dominating someone by running right at them
I can't believe anyone here thought we could compete with Georgia
At times I think we could. I watched them get decimated by South Carolina.
Until we can be as physical and big in our lines. We can't compete with the sec. Couple more years, then maybe. Coaching gets you to the promise land, talent gets you the promise land.
Bama's defense has looked mediocre the last quarter of the year.
We got a shootout folks.
Georgia answers. I can't wait to see either of these teams crush ND.
Is incredible
Wow, this is turning out to be an incredible game. Can't wait to see the winner roll over ND.
I am starting to pull for UGA, it's weird but feels right!
If we end up playing the loser of this game we get jailsexed. Worse than we did the first game of the season.
I know Alabama looked great to open the season, but the past couple of games they've looked quite beatable. Georgia played exactly two ranked teams and split. So yeah, both teams are good but this isn't the elite SEC people are used to.
Are you watching the same game? Think about either of our lines against these teams. They would be decimated.
Recent salary cap reductions for both squads have limited the potential quality of the product.
TJ Yeldon is unstoppable. Just wow.
Yeldon is just punishing people right now
when you can just run like that, with 2 guys no less, I'm so envious of this and miss it greatly by us.
frightnin
As much as we hate on the sec, can't help but marvel at how talented the Deep South is. This is a great game, and as close to a semi-pro team/game as it gets!
Bama, should have Yeldon in there, I think he's better than Lacey
It amazes me that they still get so many quality RBs with Yeldon being a true freshman. If you were Jones, Tenpenny, etc. why would you go there?
they should take a look at us and know they'll play, I can dream can't I?
There is obviously no chance of this happening, but I was really interested in seeing how an uptempo team like Oregon would fare against a really big strong running team like Alabama.
I think Oregon and Bama would be a good game. Earlier in the year I would have predicted Bama to smash them, but with the way their D has looked lately I honestly don't know who would have the advantage.
If you want there to see that there is probably a replay from the Oregon-Stanford game from a few weeks ago somewhere online.
If Stanford held Oregon to 14, I don't want to imagine the hurt that Alabama would put on Oregon.
Also, keep in mind that you would be giving Nick Saban a month to prepare, which is essentially a lifetime for him. I'd like Alabama's odds.
I can't wait for Michigan to be able to run the ball like these two teams!
Wonder how big a dent John Jenkins' food intake inflicts on Georgia's atheltics budget.
and then stalled, hmm
Capital One goes for Georgia vs. Michigan?
I can't see Georgia holding this lead
what a stop and what a great game, this is football
This is the best sec game I've watched in a long time.
This game makes me salivate at the possibility of getting Derrick Green. Similar prospect to both Yeldon and Gurley.
I have not overlooked DeVeon Smith
They play some good football in Ohio HS.
Green won't be the key. The key is all those OLs panning out to an elite level.
Tshimanga Biakabatuka approves this message.
Don't think Smith has the same combo of size and explosiveness.
OT, cause I don't want this game to end
At least our punter is better than ESS EE CEE punters. Both for Georgia and Alabama have been brutal tonight.
It's a start.
weak link in a moment like this.
EDIT: Derp city derp. Double derpin derp.
I'm so glad this game isn't Bama vs. LSU. My eyes would be bleeding.
Georgia girls are national champions in my book.
Georgia needs to form tackle.
TJ Yeldon is good at football.
he was not gonna be denied of that 1st down, what a stud Yeldon is
Ok, Yeldon is such a beast. So physical, but actually has moves and speed as well.
Game
Georgia not so good at the whole tackling thing...
Nice run. Wish he could run a few plays for us.
Bama up 32-28.
Saban is a douche but this guy can...well look at those alabama cheerleader twirler girls.
Devin could do that if we had a real running game.
If ever I thought in the last few years one guy should be able to make the jump before the age or whatever requirement, TJ is that guy.
Dang. Don't see many passes like that around these parts anymore.
like Bama and Georgia, play action works really fucking well
I'm thinkin Bama is gonna win this
Thanks for the math lesson Gary.
They keep saying Georgia has 9-10 NFL players on that defense, maybe if they play for Cleveland. Is Bama up to 600 rushing yards yet?
Ogletree could be in the league tomorrow...the rest of that defense is less inspiring.
Jarvis Jones is an elite pass rusher. He's going to be a likely top 5 pick. Of course that's not very usefull when you are getting literally run over by the Tide
This ManBall thing could really work out for us.
SEC CG ever
I remember when Manning was at Tennessee they had a real good one with Auburn.
UGA choking it away...
This is the Georgia team I expected to see in this game.
HaSean Clinton-Dix sighting.
Ah, memories.
He had a pretty nice INT in the first half.
Well it's over now. They will never stop Yeldon.
whatchya gonna do when Bama comes for you?
from earlier this yr. channel our greatness and hope they can be as great as the Gardner Gibbons magic. Double G's. it just doesn't get better
Also, not going to lie - the Alabama fanbase not the most diverse group in the world. A bunch of guys whose names I imagine are "Chase" or "Colt."
Alabama is just enraging me between Nick Saban, them always winning these kind of games, and the announcers. Fuck Bama.
Is it really best to punt there? Either way you need a TD. One first down ends the game no matter what.
And your Ron Zook Memorial Dumb Punt of the Week goes to Mark Richt. Rule of thumb: never punt with less than 3 minutes left, especially if you need a touchdown.
It was 4th and 18 against a pro defense.
Either you put some faith in your D to make the stop or it's probably <10% they have any shot of converting and thus, game over
Agreed. Hard to say it is a dumb decision given the circumstances.
I think the whole idea is that you don't need to call the thirty yard pass over the middle on third down if you know you are going for it on fourth down. A field goal isn't then end of the world and if Bama got a first down it was over no matter what part of the field they were on.
Is the Capital One bowl going to pick TA&M over UGA regardless of ranking?
A&M is your pick.
Plus, UGA went there last year. Repeat visits tend to be bad, business-wise, for bowls.
the play that will decide the game coming up
Danielson dropping the knowledge. Is Vern drunk?
Georgia gets a shot.
Murray gets a chance to be a legend.
Hold on to your hats.
Saban's channeling his inner Lloyd Carr.
Punting up 2 at the opponents 40...
Lots of coaches do that - Dantonio, Ferentz, others. Carr was annoying in that regard but definitely not alone.
C'mon Dawgs!!!!
the play clock is way too long and they should consider lowering it by 5 secs or something
...is Mountain
In BBall, Coppin St. 9.....Ind 2, love it
Bit early for an upset alert wouldn't you say?
How can you drop those kind of passes this late in the game???
Of course
Milliner strikes again.
That's got to be pass interference.
No catch.
Watching a low quality stream, but it looks like it hit to me.
Probably should have been PI. Plus that's not a catch.
It bounced but they won't overturn it
your 2012 champs, Bama Tide......they gonna whoop up on ND and I will enjoy it greatly
then again, maybe not just yet, looked like it hit the ground, but I still like Bama's chances regarldess
the ball hit the ground...
.
Finally a replay that shows it hitting the ground.
Somewhere, Danny Coale is shaking his fist at the TV
Please win this Georgia
Good to see the refs get that one right after so many bad calls this year.
Danielson is crushed that that wasn't an INT. You could hear the anguish in his voice.
I don't know why the announcers are talking about a 50-yard hail mary with 45 seconds left. You have time to get down the field.
because it's Gary and Vern.
Gary's just an idiot
Has the Prevent Defense Ever Worked?
Big time throw by Murray!
Unbelievable catch.
Come on Georgia!
WOW
HOW FUCKING STUPID CAN YOU BE?
What a crazy ending.
What the fuck! Les Miles fucking clock management! Just gift wrapped it for Bama....WTF?
Wow... why don't you spike the ball there?!?!
Georgia, you fucking dumbasses. What a stupid, stupid, stupid play. What a stupid play.
Why did you catch that?!
Devastating
Wow. Just wow.
of an ending. Wow.
that was some poor ass clock mgmt there, stupid as hell
Wow. Dont catch that ball.
God damn prevent
Almost f'd that up.
Somewhere, right now, Greg Mattison is throwing crap at his tv.
And once again, college QBs haven't learned the lesson that if your throw isn't good for first down yardage, turf it.
receiver, ball was tipped. He actually wanted the fade in the endzone.
Yep, you're right on the replay. Receiver should have batted it down, but it's tough to break the instinct to catch a ball thrown to you.
Now I have to watch Bama and ND...just fucking great. Why the fuck don't you spike the fucking ball.
Idiot
Don't catch it noooo
clock management (-infinity)
new orleans offensive coordinator shout out on that play
Somehow, someway, Georgia found a way to blow it. Again.
Woooow.. Sucks to be that receiver. His cleats cost them the national championship berth.
But because of the two teams involved, I''m not surprised how that ended.
The SEC may be faster, stronger, more physical, and more talented.
But that last play proved that they are also a lot dumber.
Iowa's playcalling disagrees with you.
Schematically speaking, I'd still rather have the O/C of either of these teams against ohio last weekend as opposed to the playcaller Michigan had. These teams at least adapt to the talent level of their players.
Mark Richt still consistently underachieving ...
I can't really say he underachieved here. His team played a hell of a game against the best team in the country and just barely came up short.
Saban looking directly at the camera during the post-game interview is creeping me out.
It's a savvy media move. Red Berenson does the same thing.
Just pulled a Zook/ Les Miles special.
Poor clock management... i thought LSU and Les Miles were on the field
This isn't your typical Alabama team - I'm not sold ND won't be able to stop them. They can run the ball against a Georgia line that doesn't seem nearly as good as they sound on paper, but this defense had a hard time in the second half slowing down Georgia.
If ND had Gurley in the backfield or a QB like Murray who is a threat to throw the ball down the field they might, but they have neither. Georgia has a NT that is better than anything ND has and they still couldn't slow them down. Yeldon is a beast. Sooner he is in the NFL the better.
Georgia blows every game like that and Bama wins every fucking one that they should lose. Two of my top 5 hated teams are playing each other for the NC....great.
Saban's a snake, but he speaks well. And as much as I dislike the SEC, that was a great game to watch.
LOL! Why did they run a play?! They wasted 6 of the precious 15 seconds left calling one, and the rest of them because it was caught. Spike it, and you have 3 quick plays.
Bad coaching there. Clock it. Huddle up. Two good throws into the endzone, maybe even three if you're quick.
That was a Tyrone Butterfield '95 play, without the lucky drop.
Watching Nebraska-Wisconsin after this game is going to be like watching Star Wars the Phantom Menace after Return of the Jedi.
if you change Jedi to Empire Strikes Back.
ESS EEE CEE brainpower is apparently the invserse of ESS EEE CEE speed.
I don't think that Manti Te'o is exactly shaking in his boots right now.
Te'o is a proper badass, but ND's schedule hasn't done them any favors. Who in Christ's Holy Name would predict that in a conference championship game played against the (admittedly overrated) #3 ranked team in the country, Alabama would have TWO RB's combine for 300-plus yards rushing?
Seriously, stats like that don't appear in games of this stature since the days of Tom Osbourne and Barry Switzer (and the late Darrell Royal) winning national championships.
MANBALL.
Classic Georgia game. Chokers to the end.
LMAO... Earlier this week @ my gym, this UGA grad /fan called Mark Richt the Tony Romo of coaching... He was soooo right.
Sort of ironic that Romo will be working for Saban next year in Dallas.
...doesn't mean that he is dumb enough to have GRADUATED from MSU.
No way Saban leaves 'Bama for the NFL, certainly not to work for a 'tard like Jerruh Jones.
but I think this year may have just passed it
Can't blame the kid who caught the ball, that was just peer instinct.
That's on Richt and Murray. Spike the ball. Gives you two, possibly three plays to get the winning score.
So Michigan vs. Georgia in the Capitol One Bowl?
Bowl may very well select Texas A&M instead.
Just throwing this out there. Bowl matchups are decided before the Heisman.
is the frontrunner and the Capital One bowl might assume that he ends being the winner.
Ah, forgot about Texas A&M.
It could go a few different ways. Texas A&M, if Manziel wins, might even jump Florida for a BCS bid.
The Big Ten is going to get hammered this bowl season.
If Nebraska wins the BTCG, Michigan, Wisconsin and Northwestern are all going to be facing 10-11 win teams in their bowl games.
Double.
Agreed on the last play. It looks like Murray was going to the receiver in the ends one but the deflection screwed up the play for them. Coaches did a terrible job of clock management as well.
What was that song...
That music video made me long for some Pop Evil.
My ideal NCG finish: Double OT ND loses on a bad call from the refs and Saban goes to the NFL.
coaches get paid millions to know basic clock mgmt. to forego spiking the ball not once but twice in the final 30 sec was completely insane.
richt cost his university several million $ tonite.
...it's not unusual.
Mark Richt is a TERRIBLE game day coach. There is a significant number of folks in this state who want to see him fired.
Gerogia's high school infrastructure is to be envied when it comes to football talent; it is a tier below California/Texas/Florida, but on par with Ohio/Pennsylvania. The fact that UGA does not contend for national championships the way Alabama does is something of a statewide disgrace...anyone with the ethics of Les Miles or Nick Saban coaching in Athens would own the crystal football until they saw fit to loan it to someone else,
It is to UGA's credit/detriment that they hired a good man with a reasonable sense of ethics (who graduated from "THE U", of all places) to coach their football team.
My theory is that the ESS EEE SEE should trade UGA to the B1G for ohio; both conferences would get what they wanted out of the deal. The B1G would get one more program with a sense of honor, the ESS EEE SEE would get one more program without one.
Might as well give Bama the national championship trophy now, too
too many teams have now played bama close this year. if ND is on the plus side of the TOs, i think they have a shot; not a good one, but a chance nonetheless.
I dont think any team can beat Alabama when they have a month to prepare, its easier to upset someone during the regular season when they're playing a game every 7 days. Saban's too good of a coach not to win against a less-talented team with a months preparation.
Bama is a much more complete team than ND, but ND is a team of destiny this year. They have found ways to win every game this year, regardless of whether or not they deserved to win.
I can see ND winning like how we won the Sugar Bowl. Bama will thoroughly outplay ND, but will make critical mistakes at the worst possible times. Yeldon will fumble inside Bama's 5, McCarron throws a costly pick, Bama makes a costly special teams error, or better yet, McCarron falls down the stairs and breaks his leg the night before the game.
Not a chance. Notre Dames run ends against Alabama.
...is that 2013 ND = 1989 Colorado.
Undefeated before they played the defending national champs from the previous year in a bowl game, wherein they got their asses handed to them due to no experience playing a team with the pedigree of that which PWNED them.
Of course, Colorado ended up winning a share of the MNC the next year, so that doesn't mean things necessarily get better from here.
Those are essentially NFL teams with their talent and execution.
We are a long ways from this level and need 2-3 years more of strong classes to even compete with Bama/UGA.
I'd say that about Alabama, a bit. But Georgia has the type of "NFL talent" that Illinois had for a bunch of years - kids who look good on paper but the coaching holds them down a bit. UM would be very competitive with Georgia this year.
UGA was 7 yards from beating Bama, we were 7 minutes into the game when the beating started.
Agree that UGA is a collection of individual talent but they have 15 kids who will make NFL rosters. Bama has premier recruiting classes every year for the last 5 years.
Look, Georgia state had 170 FBS signees, Florida had 344 and Alsbama had 86 = 600 kids in the UGA and Bama recruiting area. Michigan had 59 and Ohio 144 = 200 in the OSU and UM areas.
We don't need equal individual talent, but we need to be close to win on execution and character. Their talent is far superior at this point.
Irish Catholics vs Nick Satan
Bama pounded us with a bunch of inexperienced starters. They are experienced now.
We out gained ND and ran the ball fairly well.
Lacy & TJ will run all over them.
that Michigan had running backs gain 300 yards rushing in a game against a Top 5 opponent?
1995 Tshimanga Biakabatuka and (insert your user name here)?
