Seating (Standing) at The Big House
Looking for some help from my fellow M fans. I am looking to go to either the Nebraska or Ohio games this year. I have found plenty of tickets for purchase, but am unfarmiliar with the seating at the stadium as well as the orientation of it. I was hoping someone could tell me which parts of the stadium are student sections so I don't buy a ticket I'll need a student I.D. for. Keep in mind, as I don't know the directional orientation of the stadium, I won't know what it means to say south or north endzone. The only thing I have to go by on stub hub is home and away sidelines. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

a bad seat in the whole stadium even if its row 80 or so. I prefer sidelines but a lot of people love end zones too. Trust me the seats will not make the game any less fantastic from any section. Except that damn corner the ohio fans always take lol.

I thought that was true until the Purdue game. I had season tickets in Section 1 forever, but got rid of them this year. I was in Section 29, Row 74. They were the first row behind disabled seating and were completed obstructed. You couldn't see a thing. Fortunately, there was an empty seat two rows higher, which was fine. But for that, I would have been pretty pissed off.
I personally believe the best seats are in Rows 30-50, high enough to let you see a lot of what is going on, and yet close enough to be part of the action. The new HD scoreboards also help immensely if you want up close and personal, but I really like watching the field as the scoreboards shots are kind of tight and you don't see the whole play developing if that is your thing.

Yeah, IMO rows lower than 10 can be a worse than the seats higher up. Fun to be that close to the action, but it's harder to see the big picture.

<br>Of course the lower rows are full of people who love their seats and would say I've lost my mind. But given a choice I'd go higher, myself.

Agreed. I prefer sideline seats, but every seat is a good seat. Some better than others of course, but no bad ones. The only seats I would avoid are the ones next to visitor seating, though I forget exactly where those are (I know they are endzone seats opposite the student section, but thats all. Most are located in the upper rows, but theres a small pocket located in the lower rows, too).

Here's a chart:
http://www.michigantickets.net/seating-chart.html
The student section is from the middle of 25 through the northwest corner to about section 33 or 34. (Not sure how far over it goes these days. It used to extend to 34 or even parts of 35.)
There are some great seats in section 23 for sale. *wink*

Try just JFGI:
Here is the layout.

Basically Sections 24-34 are students.
You will have to stand up for the entire game (on the benches) in the student section.

That's fine by me. Since this will be my first trip to The Big House, I plan on standing the whole time anyway. Thanks for the help.

pray there are no older fans in your section then lol... they will not go for the standing at all.

This sounds like a great, non-controversial, completely considerate plan.

Make sure you get your student tix validated if you end up there. They won't let you in without a student ID otherwise

anything lower than row 70 if possible..............I'm in section 22, row 43.........home side.........can't complain, I can see just about everything for those seats.
The only thing with sitting on the visitors side would be that your potentially facing the sun..........given that it'll be late in the season, it obviously won't be hot out, but if it's a clear day, bring sunglasses if you're on that side.

Either buy tickets in the top row or the students section. You can buy a validation sticker for $30.

Sideline seats are better in my opinion, usually a little more expensive because it's a better view. Ideally, rows 30-60 are the best in terms of seeing the entire field. The student section is on the Northwest corner of the stadium(Sections 26-30? I think)
If you sit anywhere on the opponents sideline you will be looking into the sun as you will be facing West from those seats. This may not matter if its not sunny though.
Enjoy the Big House it will be a memorable experience!

to "standing at the Big House." There is no seating, except for handicapped people and the elderly.

Google Michigan Stadium Seating chart or go to StubHub, they have a nice interactive chart that eliminates all student tickets
