Seat cushion prices go up tomorrow for football season ticket holders
I have had re-ordering the seat cushions on my list for a while, but for some reason looked into it today (slow day at the office). I found that if you don't order by August 1st, the price goes up to $36 per (from $32).
Just a heads up for anyone who wants them, but hasn't placed their order yet. Here's the website - www.seatbacks.com/cushion/main.asp?school=wolverineseats
why do people need them anyway? Everyone should be standing ALL THE TIMEEEEEE
So YOU'RE the guy Herm's been upset with all these years.....
A GREED. For as many fans as we have, that stadium should be shaking.
Its ok, they stand up at halftime.
Its a way of bragging I have season tickets, which I do often without season cushions, so one more thing won't kill me.
So is this the big news for today?
I tailgate with a big group every home game and we pretty much go at it right up until about 11:45 or 3:15 as the case may be. With these seat cushions already installed at my seat, I've never had to worry about encroachers or being "that guy" who has to tell half a row to move over. I don't use them so much as a seat cushion as I do a seat reservation, they are also taller than most portable seat cushions and allow shorter individuals (like my wife) to see over the person in front better.
All that I wanted to be sure of, was that my row-neighbors hadn't ordered them. If they get them, I don't want them. If they don't get them, then I will.
From the IMG-affilitated website:
- CLEARLY DEFINES SEAT
- COMFORTABLE & CONVENIENT
- MAKES A GREAT GIFT FOR FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER
- NO MORE NEIGHBOR SITTING HALF-WAY ON YOUR SEAT
- NO MORE SITTING ON A WET, COLD BENCH
Two out of five reasons are the same; basically marking your seat area. And the height thing is kind of nice. But obviously, they get just as wet as the bench if it rains before the game. It is a little bit amazing, how they don't soak up water like a sponge if it rains hard on Friday.
I can tell all of my close and personal friends on MGoBlog this much -- if you call SeatBacks.com and ask them about your row-neighbors, they WILL tell you if they have purchased them.
Yep - their greatest value lies in demarcating your personal territory. I got them last year and had more room to sit than before.
Heh, amateurs. If you want to claim your territory, get the motherload of territory claimers. I take this with me to every game. Straps to the bleacher and everything.
You should be IN your seat by 11:30/3:00 at the LATEST!

One is not allowed to bong a beer inside the stadium at 11:45/3:15.
Worth every penny. Our neighbors kinda hated our guts last year, but they only came to the "big" games anyway, so they can kiss my butt. My well-cushioned butt, that is.
Edit: I realized after posting that since I refered to my butt as "well-cushioned", I opened the door to many fat ass jokes. Whatever I get, I deserve it.
They are certainly worth it in my case - I use them not only as a reservation of sorts (although it didn't stop a couple guys from trying to appropriate my seats at the EMU game last year), but as a geospatial reference when I arrive at the stadium since not many people near me seem to have them.
I didn't comprehend a single thing after your use of the term "geospatial." I'm not sure what you meant -- but I can tell right away that you're someone to be reckoned with...
During crazy scenarios, we may not just be standing, but standing on the benches. That becomes difficult with a cushion.
That doesn't happen outside of the student section. People in the rest of the stadium will stand at times, but I've never seen a non-student (other than maybe a little kid who can't see) stand on top of the bleachers.
for Illinois 2010, were you?
... mainly to "claim my seats" as many others have said. Also, if there are any other new season ticket holders, you can find out your seats from the website (if you haven't ordered) or via phone (if you have ordered).
I'll be wayyyyy up in Sec 18, Row 94, Seats 9 & 10
Why can't we have the ones the volleyball boosters get for games at Keen?
no chairbacks/seatbacks allowed in the stadium
Thanks for the reminder. I was planning on re-ordering them this year and you helped save me a few bucks.
