Season Ticket Transfers Now Allowed

Submitted by Kilgore Trout on

The athletic department's annual email announcing PSDs came out today and included an interesting addition. Season ticket holders may now permenantly transfer their tickets to another person. To my knowledge, the only time this has ever happened before was the year that the PSDs were initially introduced. I hope to not use this for years, but it's nice to see that they are responsive to ticket holder's requests and ideas.

The Athletic Dept continues to expand the guaranteed season ticket allotment. There are many facility initiatives over the next 5 years that will require funding. The only down side is that there will be a few less tickets for sale to the general public. P.S. By donating a little more you can improve your chances greatly. Most pay the minimum, so if you add an extra $250 or so your chances are significantly better.

If I recall transfers were allowed one year during the Brandon era. I beleive when the PSDs increased a few years ago. The major difference between that instance and the new transfer process is that the cost to transfer tickets counted as part of the PSD so you didn't have to pay a PSD in addition to the cost to transfer. The transfer costs were much higher (more than double) though.

I remember the $500 per seat transfer fee and was quite worried on what it would be when wanting to have seats that I have been purchasing from a season ticket holder transferred into my name. Was pretty happy when they released the transfer pricing a few months back and saw that I only needed to pay $75 per seat. Was able to get everything wrapped up last week and also had to pay the 2016 PSD. Not a bad deal at all

I can't find any information on PSD rates for 2016 but based on my bill they have increased dramatically. My seats are in the endzone, which were $75/seat this year. They are $200 each for 2016 which means they were either reclassified as sideline or the price went up. I'm curious if others have had the same experience?

It wasn't mentioned often after the initial period. I did get my family's football tickets sometime around 2003, but I was able to transfer the hockey tickets a few years ago; I'm think 2011 or 2012. The key was the 500USD per seat donation to transfer them. Did they raise the transfer fee per seat? I haven't looked yet.

My stepmom has my dad's  tickets since my dad died 15 years or so ago. There are the seats I sat in as a kid and heard my parents talk about seing Roger Staubach play Michigan in the Big House so I think they got them in the early 60's. Not sure if she is interested in transferring but the cost would be:

$600 per seat transfer fee

$400 more per seat PSD per year than what I pay now

Just not sure the $2k in year 1 and $800 more per year is worth it. Great seats at about the 45 at about row 50 but I am closing in on retirement and am not sure I want to take on that load. I'm not sure my son would be able to afford them for several years.

I'm thinking of just keeping my Section 42 and forgoing Section 1. I guess I am just a cheap Fat Bastard.

You won't be saying. Man I'm sure glad I saved a few hundred on keeping my current seats and not enjoying the memories I have as a kid sitting in the seats I did with my father.

I've missed out on some great experiences when I was younger because I wanted to save a few hundred bucks and now wish I would have just spent that money.

But hey either way you've got tickets so Go Blue

Hi all!  Hoping someone can help shed some light on this question.

Several months ago I signed up on the new season ticket interest list.  I got an email a couple weeks ago saying that I would able to get 2 season tickets.  In addition to this, my grandma just found out about the season ticket transfer program.  She is no longer interested in attending the games and wants to transfer the tickets to me come December when the transfer window opens.

I read the ticket transfer site and it indicated that the maximum number of season tickets a season holder can have is 8.  If I take the 2 tickets that were offered to me from the interest list can I still take transfer of my grandma's tickets?  Can I have 2 sets of tickets in two completely different sections and hold on to them that way?  Can I eventually get a grouping of tickets together?

Thanks for your thoughts and input, and Go Blue!
