Season Ticket Renewals
I once paid a fee and have sat dormant on the season ticket waiting list for almost 15 years. In mid-May, I told a friend of mine (a Michigan alum) that I received a letter from the Michigan Ticket Office in early May with an offer to buy 2009 season tix (this is the "All In" ticket package).
Anyway, my friend told me last night that he was shocked when received the same offer yesterday via E-mail. HE said that he isn't even on the official waiting list. His thought was that season ticket sales must be cratering "big time" if they're now stooping to his level.
The double whammy of the economy and 3-9 is really taking its toll. Unbelievable.
I got the same email from the Alumni Association yesterday.
My guess is these things aren't moving because there is no option to renew. It could also be because the "All-In For Michigan" slogan is incredibly, monumentally lame.
I finally Paid the $10 to get on the football season ticket waiting list last night. I am holding out hope that they will still email me with a chance to purchase the "All In" package. What are my odds at getting this offer?
i think it largely has to do with the renovation - they'll actually have to cut the amount of regular seats for 2010 with the wider seats and aisles, so they don't want to take people off the waitlist for renewable season tickets because they're going to have to kick those people right out next year.
so where they would normally move people off the waitlist, they are just selling the tickets as single year clumps. it's basically a way to buy time for the ticket office
need I say more! Even if they can't be renewed you are getting tickets at face value for three huge games. My guess would be that those who do buy the All In pack will get moved up the waiting list, but that's just my opinion.
I applied for the wait list in March when I got hired for my first real job out of school. I got the e-mail for "all in package" about a month and a half ago. I didn't even care if they aren't renewable, I pounced on the tickets, as the man above me stated, ND, PSU and OSU is worth the 800 bucks just for two seats for those three games. I hope this does get me up the waiting list though. I'm just curious, did everyone get the e-mail at the same time, or are people still receiving it?
Tickets are offered to people at various levels of Michigan commitment. So, alumni association members, people who have donated to the U at varying levels, had season tickets in other sports for X number of years (where of course more years and more money means offered sooner, maybe even offered better tickets). They probably are offering them further down the foodchain as they gauge the response. Which is totally fair, IME.
Is there anyway that I can get these without them sending my dad something? My dad went to Michigan in the 80's. Do you think I can call someone at Michigan's athletic dept. and get these? And are they good seats?

There's not a bad seat in the Big House! There was no mention of where the seats would be. Also stated that seats could change from game to game.
There are a few bad seats under the press box.
My freshman year season tickets were right next to the press box, you could see about half of the field. Of course we only visited them once and then immediately moved closer for the remainder of the season.
jrt336: If you can't get tickets, let me know. I have tickets for this season, but I don't think I"m going to be able to make it to any of the games (except for maybe OSU).
