While I am trying to calm myself fo the UofM game, I am ready to watch any game presently but to get my NCAA Football blood pumping for starters I am anxious to watch Pitt play Utah tomorrow night!
this may be of some local interest
UVA vs. Richmond has got my interest piqued a little bit.
London kicking off his tenure against his former team is compelling, but I think it could be a good game too with the success Richmond has had lately. I'm also curious to see Aaron Corp (USC transfer who almost certainly should have been their starting quarterback last season) play for the Spiders.
Pitt-Utah, NC-LSU, Wash-BYU, UCLA-KSU should be ok, and of course VT-BSU.
Those would be my games too, although I'd probably toss in ND-Purdue.
I think Marshall is playing some Loser filled squad of nobodys. Maybe i'll watch that. go herd
Something needs to shut up the OSU (spit) fanbase. A loss to the Heard might do the trick.
I "Herd" that!
GVSU vs. West Texas A&M. If I can't enjoy night games at the U of M all of the time, I might as well take in some Grand Valley games. This actually is shaping up to be a great game. Blackout at Lubbers, CBS Broadcast, first game of the year. Can't get much better, for D2 at least.
I'm looking forward to Va Tech vs. Boise St., Utah Vs. Pittsburgh and LSU vs. North Carolina. I'm also hoping Hawaii hands it to USC.
on the TV. A starving man will eat whateverthefuck he can find.
Indiana / Townsend... might cause you to upchuck whatever else you digested.
Definitely Boise State v. VTech. After that:
Oregon State v TCU in Dallas
LSU at UNC
Pitt at Utah
Washington at BYU
Purdue at Notre Dame (only the replay because this is during our game)
And for kicks USC at Hawaii.
Virginia Tech is the great hope of the BCS! That's a lot of pressure on them on the blue turf!
The VT-Boise State game is actually in DC, so they won't be playing on the blue turf. I agree, although Oregon State is just as much a protector if not more, since they play both TCU and Boise State.
Whoops! I thought I heard it was in Idaho. My bad.
And that's just about every game.
Purdue should be overmatched talent wise, but a first year coach and new starting qb together in their first game - should be interesting.
Also, Boise State and VaTech is gonna be a frigin sweet Monday night game.
Almost forgot UNC-LSU. Is UNC ready for the big time? I don't think so.
cant forget that one. I might tivo it and watch later because I'll be at the Big House. Definitely gonna tell us a lot about what to expect the following week.
for 4 quarters so he will be a noodle the following week.
I go to U of Richmond, so I will also be checking out that game against UVA.
LSU and UNC should be a great game and Boise vs VT. Living in VA during the VT heyday if you will, I will say that Mike Vick has done more for this program, than Tebow did for Florida. They are always overrated, they play (and win) in a weak conference but get beat consistently against top talent. However Boise State in a a potential BCS game is a disgrace to Big 10 and SEC teams.
Naturally I'd love to see OSU fall to Marshall, but I think that would set the Big 10 perceptions back 5 years.
This Saturday, I am going to be one lazy motherfucker.
I'm really curious to see what will happen in the Hawaii/USC game. I'm thinking it will be very telling.
I'm interested to see how McGuffie does against the Longhorns.
i think there will be some very dark subtexts to the Demon Deacons vs Presbyterian game tonight
I'm fortunate enough to be going to both the UNC-LSU game on Saturday and the Virginia Tech-Boise St game on Monday. Other than Michigan, those are the big two I am interested in.
For folks in Colorado, this is a very intense rivalry. Hawkins has backed into a decent offensive roster now that he has given up on playing his untalented son and picked up three 4-star wide receiver transfers recently (from SC, UCLA, and our own Toney Clemons). At the same time, all the Buffs fans I know have zero faith in the Hawk. Curious to see how they do in the opener considering the rest of the non-conference schedule includes Georgia and Cal, not to mention their Big 12 schedule. If Hawkins has any chance of keeping his job and not seeing fans abandon the program in droves, he has to win this one.
I'm only watching one game Saturday...and even that has been up for debate. Stupid board exams...
The gut says VaTech wins. The heart will be pulling for Boise. An ideal situation would be for Boise to go undefeated, make the BCS title game, and then get kicked in the teeth by the other team.
My gut feeling says Boise State will win, but i want VT to win.
Not a single game has crossed my mind other than ours.
I'm interested to see how Steven Threet performs as ASU starting QB; although I don't expect it to be a real test.
A lot of solid games on Saturday......the Boise St/V-Tech game obviously comes to mind.....Notre Dame/Purdue is always solid.....The LSU/UNC game would have probably been at the top until the whole UNC shit came to light.
play on Monday.
OPPS....I meant to write this weekend's games.
should be a good one, and watching Purdue beat Notre Dame will be interesting, though I am not sure it helps Michigan any.
Also, a soaking rain Thursday night throughout the midwest sparks my interest for one reason. Marshall was bowl team last year and returns most of their starters (15) I believe. They have talented experienced quarterbacks and a fairly solid defense. Ohio States dominant performace against Navy last year is somewhat indicative of how they often play in season openers, which is to say, with little motivation. It is an instate "rivalry" game, and if I am not mistaken, it was originally scheduled for Saturday. And, the Buckeyes have the ABC darling of a showdown with the Canes the following week. Hmm, that sounds a little "trappy."
Now of course it is likely that the Buckeyes kick the living shit out of the Thundering Herd, but I don't think it is a game without intrigue.
Boise State @ VA Tech. I hope the Hokies beat the piss out of BSU so I don't have to here Kirk Herbstreit tell me how good of a team they are despite playing in the god damn WAC. In fact, I will take anything that makes Herbstreit shut his mouth.
That's going to be a great game for Les Miles and Butch Davis.
I think LSU wins it, but UNC has a pretty good team this year.
