Sean Parker says MI, USC, and Cal are top 3

Submitted by IanO on
On Thursday Night Kickoff on The NFL network, California safety Sean Parker just listed Michigan, USC, and Cal as his top three. He listed them in that order. :) He was also wearing his Army All-American jersey. The host said "he seems very intelligent which means Michigan will, no doubt, be his choice." I don't know if the host has MI ties, or just good sense.

I love Michigan, but any of those three schools would serve an aspiring student well. That said, I would absolutely love to have him. Anyone know what his plans/schedule for announcement are?

Caveat: US News rankings are not the final authority on anything, but reliable enough for discussion. Not to make it seem like I have an LA bias (I'm from MI and am a Michigan alumnus) but according to US News, Cal is #21, USC is #26 and we are #27. I'd say those are all about a wash, but to say that USC is far behind us academically is misinformed.

I agree that US News favors private schools. Berkeley and M should probably be around 15 or so, maybee even higher. That said, saying that USC is far behind us is just incorrect. USC has very good programs, both undergrad and graduate, and I'm quite sure it's more difficult to get accepted to SC than UM (although student body size certainly plays a role).

I'm just going to assume that the host has Ohio State or Michigan St ties because he couldn't quite get into Michigan...so he realizes the we are superior to everyone else.

USC is on the way down. Harbaugh will rule the Pac Ten. Cal is not a football school and won't be able to develop Sean Parker. Additionally, Cal will get owned by Harbaugh Harbaugh will rule USC and Cal. See a trend here? Where did Harbaugh go to school? He will commit to Michigan...and play for RichRod C'mon down Sean Parker

He has visited Cal, and lives 15 miles due south of USC. He's going to commit to M site unseen? Has this guy even been on our warm list of prospects? Gee, I dunno.
