Sean Parker Enjoys Michigan Visit

Submitted by CincyBlue on
"It was a good visit, I would call it my best visit so far," Parker said. "All the visits are similar in a lot of ways with the campus tours and meeting the academic people. This was my visit where I didn't see a football game since the season is over but we did see a basketball game for a half and that was cool. "Overall, I loved the facilities and they have great academics at Michigan as well. It can get cold but it's not a big deal for me, it's nothing I can't overcome. I like Coach (Rich) Rodriguez and I like the opportunity to play early as well so Michigan definitely has a lot of pluses for me." http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4721526&name=West_Re…

As the sensible readers have pointed out, I was talking about Parker's commitment changing Vinopal's mind, not my message board posts. You're right - I would be delusional if I thought my opinion of a kid would determine where he goes to school. That being said, you might want to hone your critical thinking skills.

No, it's definitely critical thinking. Before you responded, you probably should have thought to yourself, "Is he saying that Parker's commitment might turn away Vinopal OR is he saying that he believes some random internet message board guy's opinion might turn away Vinopal? Oh, yeah, that second idea is stupid. He must have meant the former." That's critical thinking. Yours needs work.

I think the Tony Jefferson boat has sailed unless USC/Oklahoma fill up at his position. Furman and Jefferson are both being recruited for the SAM position, and since Furman is going to commit to us or VT on December 19, I'd say that will go a long way toward deciding whether we continue to pursue Jefferson or not.

If Parker, Anderson, or Knight committed it would have more of an effect on Vinopal than Carvin. Vinopal would be a SS in this defense and Carvin more of a FS. Keep in mind that a SS in this defense is the centerfielder type and the FS in this defense is the in the box safety. Parker, Anderson, and Knight would all project as a SS so they would not have much effect at all on Carvin. I also don't think we would take a commitment from Vinopal this late in the game if we were going to then turn around and say, "Sorry, we found someone we like better". I think we end up taking 28 this class and have 3 guys grayshirt. That or some guys won't qualify. Regardless, IME, I think we would take any three of those guys and keep Carvin and Vinopal. We have the best shot at Parker or Knight.
