Michigan added two top notch coaches to their wrestling coaching staff with the hirings of Sean Bormet and Donny Pritzlaff. Bormet was an outstanding wrestler for the Wolverines in the mid 90's, and compiled an outstanding coaching resume over the last decade.
"Joe McFarland, head coach of the Wolverines, said, "I consider Sean and Donny two of the best coaches in the country, and to be able to get both of them in here as part of our coaching staff is just incredible. There's no question that they are going to help elevate this program to new and great heights. Our goal is to win Big Ten and NCAA championships, and I think with these guys on board, we have every intention of doing that.

Coach McFarland isn't lying when he calls Bormet and Pritzlaff two of the best in the country. Bormet's been a mainstay on the national and international levels for several years now, and Pritzlaff has been the top assistant (as well as the biggest asset in recruiting) at Wisconsin. These moves show that U of M is committed to competing in the "coaching arms race" that the Big Ten has turned into with Penn St.'s rise to the top with Cael Sanderson. Look for Michigan to be close to that level in the very near future.
