S.D. St. Player Participation (No new redshirts burned)
http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092411aab.html
Some key notes:
-Shaw did not take a snap at TB, but was healthy enough to play special teams (unless he had an in-game injury that I did not notice that kept him out after the 1st qtr - anyone????)
-Looks like R. Taylor switched from #21 to #6
-No new freshman got their first snaps (and, therefore, no new burned redshirts)
-Rawls did not take a snap (and considering Hoke's comments this week regarding his limited play against EMU is not enough - by the new rules (?) - to burn his redshirt)
-Obviously, Countess got legit p.t. this week (not sure if it was planned or due to Woolfolk missing time - anyone????)
-Shout out to T. Robinson for his work as gunner on punt team - was always on top of the returner on every punt forcing a fair catch or making the instant stop
-Noticed J. Furman (#14) on special teams for the first time this year making his way to the play

I don't think Countess getting PT was a surpise, but I do think he got more than originally planned because of Woolfolk's injury.

I am pretty sure Countess will see more PT. Not always looking for the ball, but he was rarely separated from, at least from what I saw.

He was wrapping up his receivers. I didn't see them busting out for more yardage than what they got on the catch because Countess was all over them. He was pretty physical. I liked his compete level. I think he might be a starter by the end of the year.

Looks like Shaw is not gonna see the field much more this year.

Your guess is as good as mine. Shaw is the most logical choice to be out there returning kicks considering he is like 4th on the depth chart now.

Forgot to look for him, did Cam get any PT?

I didn't see him out there. Maybe on ST?

I noticed him and several depth type people getting time after the half. While Denard obviously still needs more live snaps, apparently, the defense is doing well enough to get some play time for all.

I REALLY hope this defense continues to improve. We are really gonna need em to step up this year.

Anyone see BWC get any PT today? I don't remember seeing him, or hearing his name called.

He was out there for a few plays. Looked to me like he was used mostly on run downs. I can't remember him making any plays.

He played some later on in the game. I don't know if he recorded any stats but he was seen pushing back SDSU linemen with ease.

I remember hearing his name on a tackle, I think it was in the third quarter, because he was referred to as "William Campell". I actually saw him in there quite a bit, didn't see as much Black as I was expecting but I may have missed him.

Did anyone notice if Beyer got in for any snaps? I was looking for him the last couple of series but couldn't tell who everyone was on the d-line from my vantage point.

I'm not sure if played any snaps on D, but he was on special teams coverage.

From what I can remember, BWC was in and out pretty much every series. I know for sure he was in on a couple stops and seems to be getting better though I am no where near a football expert. It will be interesting to see what the UFR shows.
EDIT-This was meant to be posted above with the BWC comments.

I noticed Fitzgerald playing a fair amount today. I was surprised ot see that he was in at WLB instead of backing up at MLB. Also saw Morgan out there a fair amount at WLB. I like Hawthorne's playmaking, but I'd love to see a sub at WLB good at playing the run.
Also interesting to see Black as a back-up at SDE instead of WDE. With Roh's play it makes sense. Keep Roh on the field and get your best players playing.
