Scouting Report: Sterling Jenkins
This week I posted a scouting report on Pittsburgh (PA) Baldwin offensive tackle Sterling Jenkins. A lot of recruiting gurus think Jenkins is leaning toward Michigan at this point.

Thanks for sharing this as always. Actually, there was a short highlight clip on YouTube as well with a few things from his current season:
It bears out some of what was said in the scouting report, particularly that the size is definitely there. He can definitely stay in front of people.

I've been reading articles on several different sites stating this kid is all blue.

Why is he not playing left tackle in the clip above...Is that a concern?

High schools often put their best lineman at right tackle because most teams are right-handed in their play calling due to the quarterback's arm. Erik Magnuson was somewhat of a rarity in that he played LT in high school and is expected to be a LT in college. If you look at most of Michigan's linemen (who were presumably the best linemen on their high school team), they were mostly right guards and right tackles.

Hunched forward, I presume (from above, shoulders forming more of a slight "C" shape)? Proper technique on run blocks should be more of a "flat" back?

Correct. You lose functional strength with a rounded back (hunched forward), which is why you're taught to lift weights (squat, deadlift, bench press, etc.) with your shoulders back.
