rundown of Michigan's riser
Scouting Report: Da'Shawn Hand
The fact that this kid is not yourt normal #1 overall recruit freak athelete is probably Michigan's biggest advantage. Hand seems like a kid who really means it when he says Academics are very important. I think the staff can really appeal to him with that. I heard somewhere he wants to do engineering. If that is the case, it could come down to UM-VT for him.

Thank you for the read, Magnus! Would love to see him in Maize and Blue.
Magnus, if you did have to nitpick about Hand's weaknesses, what would you say?
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
You can go through plays and nit-pick things - angles, steps, hand placement, etc. - but they're not consistent enough to really be "weaknesses." You know, Kobe Bryant is a great basketball player, but that doesn't prevent him from making a bad pass once in a while, getting beaten off the dribble occasionally, etc. Nobody's perfect.
"Weaknesses: Anything I put here would be totally nit-picking"
That made me chuckle, but it seems like this is the case between the review and the film available. He holds an offer from basically 1/4 of Dvision I schools, if I counted right. Scout summarized his stats for this past season, and they do sound nice:
"Hand finished the season with 110 tackles, 16 sacks, 40 tackles for loss, two pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries."
"Funny isn't it, how naughty dentists always make that one fatal mistake."

We must sign Hand so that our fan base can get credit for making "Spicoli" into a verb. Like, in describing a bone-jarring hit on an opposing QB, we can say "Mr. Hand spicolied him."

But, the first half of this thread was hilarious.
If he's the best player at his position, then his TTB Rating would likely be 100.
I didn't even want to watch his film because I didn't want to see such dominance. Has he listed a top 5 yet? I know we're his favorite staff so I really hope some on field success coupled with some high profile future commits recruiting him will give us a legit shot at the best player in high school.
There is god, there is family, and then there is MICHIGAN FOOTBALL

Sounds like a great kid. I love the idea of getting players that we can call student-athletes without smirking. Hope like hell he goes blue.
