Here is an NFL draft blogger's take on some Michigan players to watch in the 2011 draft. Analyzes Obi, Schilling, Mike Williams, Mouton, Moundros, Koger. Some things I thought were spot on; others I thought couldn't be further off.
Scouting Michigan players for 2011 NFL Draft
How he projects Mike Martin to go undrafted is beyond me
Hopefully he thinks Martin will come back for his senior year and thus go undrafted. Martin seems like the type of kid who will come back regardless. Yeah, maybe that's just wishful thinking.
Mike left after his Junior season in NCAA 11... I is sad :(
Sounds like you didn't spend enough time pep-talkin' him.
If RRod gets canned, I can see Martin leaving for the draft early. Otherwise I think he'll stay, RRod seems to really have a great connection with his players (i.e Brandon Graham+RRod hug at halftime during a basketball game).
Oh that's what was going on, according to Freep RRod was trying to mug BG.
I will be shocked. I hope the scheme change this season does wonders for him but if its anything like last year, i would be surprised to see him drafted at all. (Maybe someone would pick him up as a free agent for special teams)
Because I sure as hell don't want to lose Denard to the draft.
the NFL has indeed confirmed that you must be a minimum of three (3) (tres) years removed from high school before you may be eligible for the draft.
Yeah, I know he was joking and so was I but I'll admit it...I just got pwned.
to get three years away from high school in two.
BTW....you didn't happen to be a writer for "Lost" did you?
That crazy rule was made for mere mortals. This young man is not made of flesh and blood but from the factory whose crowning achievement is 100% pure dilithium.
NFL defenders across the league are down on their knees every day praying that he will stay for a Junior season.
If he does, Denard Robinson will be the first player to win the Heisman trophy 3 times. Book it.
Apparently our best players are the linebackers, according to this guy. I wonder if he had Warren going in the first two rounds?
Mike Martin is only a junior. If I was a betting man, I'd say he'll be around for his senior year. Let's wait until 2012 NFL Draft analysis of our current junior players before getting upset.
lost all credibility with me after saying, "Junior safety Michael Williams is agile, nimble and quick up the field. Fluid pedaling in reverse, he's also smooth flipping his hips in transition and shows some cover skills." I mean, I wish it were true, but what film is he watching???
I blacked out when I read that...
Dear God, if there is some way to make this be true this year, please please let it happen.
It's funny, looking at his list, how the top four players with pro-potential were either benched last year (Ezeh/Mouton) or won't be starters this year (Moundros/Williams).
Other than Schilling (who I think will be the UM player taken the highest) I could see Woolfolk as being the next Michigan player off the board. Ezeh and Mouton have a chance to be drafted, but I think there's also a chance one or both of them aren't starters by the end of the year.
that it's not the 2009 Illinois game.
Mike Williams getting drafted lolz
...Stevie Brown was going to get drafted leading up to last year, I would have laughed at you. Then I would have punched myself in the face. Then I would have laughed some more.
Maybe he's Mel Kiper's personal assistant?
This little shot was cute: "When breaking down Michigan film one thing is apparent; there’s a ton of talent on the team yet only a few prospects really play to their potential."
On Schilling: "Looking like a future star as a freshman at tackle..." Weird.
Redshirt sophomore J. T. Floyd is on the list, but others of the same vintage (e.g., Patrick Omameh and Roy Roundtree) are not. Weird.
Where the hell is RVB? Weird.

Player development this season aside, the results of the 2011 draft will enable us to analyze the past couple of seasons in a new light.
Schilling in the 7th? Everyone else seems to be a lot higher on him than this guy. Also, Moundros getting drafted? I doubt it. How many FBs got drafted this year? I don't know if any did. He's a good FB, but I don't think he's one of the best.
This guy thinks that Mike Williams goes in the 6th or 7th, there is no way he makes a better pro than Schilling, lol.
I mean come on dude.
North Carolina having 4 players go in the top 23 of the draft. Do they really have that many top pro prospects? That seems like a team deserving to be ranked in the top 15 nationally by the start of the year if that's correct. They also have Marcell Dareus as 4th overall in the draft (didn't know he was that good, sorry Alabama).
North Carolina's D is absolutely stacked. ESPN profiled it a month or so ago. Of course I can't find that article anymore, but they have 4 - 6 top 40 players on their D. Their offense is terrible, though. Hence why many aren't picking them to win the ACC.
on that side of the field. Bruce Carter, Quan Sturvidant, Marvin Austin are their three best defensive player on the team. Bruce Carter has ridiculous speed and he was timed 4.3 at 230 lbs which is quite ridiculous. I will give it a 5 FAKE out of 5 FAKE in Brian's chart unless he runs that time at the NFL combine.
The only offensive player worth mentioning is Greg Little.
Where have you been the last week (UNC allegations)?
Can you imagine before this year's draft if someone told you Stevie Brown would get drafted and Donovan Warren wouldn't?
Or better yet, a year ago, before last season.
This guy has Adrian Clayborn as the 5th best DE in the draft. Even my man-crush on Cameron Heyward doesn't keep me from seeing how stupid this is. What is it about the NFL draft that draws stupid like moths to a flame?
