Scout takes "soft verbal" off of Posada
January 25th, 2011 at 10:19 AM ^
Be easy? It says he is committed, are you trying to say that it says he is not comitted?
January 25th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
that he is comitted, that it said "Soft Verbal" before.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:26 AM ^
I should have been clear. Sorry guys.
January 25th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
The thread title just made it sound like he removed us, which scared me. Thanks for the positive info though.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
without saying, you know, SIAP
January 25th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
For a while they had him listed as a soft verbal rather than committed while the coaching change was going down. Apparently he's back at 100%.
EDIT: Right, what Shtoink said.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:25 AM ^
you guys can be brutal sometimes. I was just passing along something that I perceived as good news. Some may have known this. Some may have suspected this. I think its good that he is definitely blue!
January 25th, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
He's saying be easy as in don't neg him to death cause it's his first time posting.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:53 AM ^
...And what Jesus Christ declared shall be the truth!
January 25th, 2011 at 10:20 AM ^
Apropos of nothing, I can't help but pronounce Posada the way the hyenas pronounce Mufasa in Lion King.
That is all.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:48 AM ^
Que Pasa?
January 25th, 2011 at 10:23 AM ^
Rivals just put an article saying that Posada is fully committed to Michigan. Key passage:
Shortly before boarding his plane back to Tampa, Posada said he fully intended to sign with Michigan after having a chance to meet new head coach Brady Hoke and his staff.
"Coach Hoke and his staff are going to take this team to the next level and I am happy to be one of their players," Posada added.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:27 AM ^
I don't have access, but I like that quote.
Thanks to both of you for the info!
January 25th, 2011 at 10:25 AM ^
First time for me guys. Be easy!
Sad that first time poster have to caveat their postings with disclaimers like this.
I, for one, appreciate the real-time info. Thanks!
January 25th, 2011 at 10:30 AM ^
talking about posting on the mgoboard?
January 25th, 2011 at 10:50 AM ^
with almost 8000 points, and this is your first time posting? Odd.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:28 AM ^
Thanks for info and check out MH20's post. This should give you an idea of how to make your thread a little better next time. Not being a dick, just trying to help a brother out.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
I'm not an insider though so I just wanted to kind of pass along the positive info. I am guessing MH20 is an insider thus the inside info???
I will do better next time though. I love this board. Its where I get all the info i need. I live in VA so i appreciate all of you guys. Thanks
GO BLUE!

I have a Rivals subscription, so yeah, I guess I have "insider" access, though to be truthful it gets here almost as quickly (and sometimes quicker) than the paysites. I like reading posts on the Fort (message board on Michigan's Rivals site) and the articles by their mods.
Keep it up, you're doing just fine.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:39 AM ^
Positve info is always welcome and without the insider info there is no way for you to give that quote. Job well done.

How much room do we have for offensive linemen in this class?
I see the following possibilities:
- Posada
- Jack Miller
- Jake Fisher
- Chris Bryant
That would be great, although the board has been all over the place on Fisher. If all four committed, would there be room for Zettel (understanding that there is really no chance and no interest, but strange things happen on signing day.)
January 25th, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
I think that Zettel would be brought in as a DE at this point. I think that's where PSU has him slotted.
As to your o-line question, we could take all four. Considering Michigan only took one last year (Christian Pace), OL is a need.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:35 AM ^
Pretty sure Zettel is solid to PSU. As far as I know I have not heard of our staff being in contact with him. Personally I would rather get Fisher back in the fold.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:40 AM ^
Zettel is rock-solid to Penn State. He's a kid that you'd find a way to get him in if he flipped to Michigan, however I'd be shocked if he went anywhere other than Happy Valley.
If we can regain Fisher's services and add Bryant, that would be one really nice OL class.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
I saw Zettel earlier this year and he played 5 positions. DE was where he was least productive in the game I attended. I don't recall him making any plays. He was unreal on the offensive line and at linebacker. Maybe what I saw will make everyone feel better if we end up having a strong offensive line class, but he stays firm on Penn State.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
TomVH tweeted a while back that Michigan contacted Pat Flavin (Illinois commit).
Not sure how much interest he has (DGDestroys says very interested).

I'm curious about something, what happend to the "gentlemans agreement" about not poaching recruits from B1G schools? I remember RR getting some backlash for this but haven't heard any complaints about Hoke doing it, not that I mind him doing it just curious. Also, how does the illini have 27 commits, I thought there was a B1G rule about only 25 to a class.
January 25th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
I'm pretty sure the rule is 28 for the Big Ten. That gentlemen agreement was just plain BS and something that added to the RR backlash.

glad to hear it, does anyone know when Poole is going to announce today..
January 25th, 2011 at 10:45 AM ^
At his basketball game tonite, not sure on a time but I'd have to guess somewhere around 7-9p.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:39 AM ^
i wish someone could give more insight on zettel, whether hoke and co has been in contact with him since the hire. zettel for whatever reason symbolically feels like the old school michigan player.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:44 AM ^
And how did the emo guy get out of there? When I see those negative point totals, I can't help but think of Conrad's The Heart of Darkness, where he says,
"The reaches opened before us and closed behind, as if the forest had stepped leisurely across the water to bar the way for our return. We penetrated deeper and deeper into the heart of darkness."
You appear to have gone deep into that mgodarkness.

After the coaching change he softened on his stance to Michigan. He remained committed but was sort of in "wait and see" mode with respect to Hoke. After visiting and talking to Coach, he's fully onboard.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:55 AM ^
January 25th, 2011 at 10:42 AM ^
Interesting that they also changed his commit date to 1/23/11.
January 25th, 2011 at 10:52 AM ^
They removed the soft verbal off of Blake Countess yesterday too. Last week he tweeted "Those who stay will be champions" after Hoke left his house. Then a few days later he tweeted something like "Tough decision, I'm torn" or something like that after Penn State's coaches visited. I haven't heard anything since. Has he publicly reaffirmed with UM?
January 25th, 2011 at 10:57 AM ^
Helmholdt posted a quick hit from Blake's dad on the Fort to the effect of "my son is committed to U-M."
Kind of cryptic but still sounds like he's coming to Michigan.

Brady Hoke was the Viagra.
