What i dont get is how these guys can all have such impressive offer sheets (include jeremy jackson and lo wood on that list) and be rated so low. Marvin Robinson has got everyone from UF to USC to OSU after him, and hes ranked as only the 16th best safety in the class (as of now). What is more likely? A serious fail on the part of scouts, or a long list of overly generous coaches. Jeremy Jackson confuses me even more. Hes got offers from LSU, UF, Minn, Louisville, Nebraska, etc., and is rated by neither scouts nor rivals

IIRC, most of the scouting services are based in the east or midwest and have a tendency to overrate east coast and midwestern players. RR recruits more in the south, where players have a tendency to be underrated. There are so many great athletes in the south that they can't all get as many stars as they should. The reason for this seems to be that stars are given out by region and not nationally. So the best "x" amount of midwest region players get five stars, the best "X" amount of southern players get five stars, etc. This makes players from regions that have more talent underrated and players from regions that have less talent overrated. It is no accident that no team has won a National Championship with mostly midwest or northern players since OSU, who didn't deserve theirs because of the ineligible Maruice Clarett.

Holy shit he should be rated -33? Damn I hope RichRod focuses on recruiting these outstanding Michigan kids and doesn't let Dantonio get them all.

Austin white is 121 to Scout, and unranked to Rivals. Marvin Robinson is top 100 to Rivals, 187 to Scout. Devin Gardner 177 or so to Rivals, 80-something to Scout. Fuckin' bizzaro world going on here.

Going back to '05, it's interesting to see that on Rivals, the elder Forcier was a mid-three star guy, while on Scout, he was in the equivalent of what would have been their top 125 or so.
