His response: Tommy schutt ranked higher than me lmfao I'm done lol

I've gotta get a twitter just to follow Pipkens; this guy is priceless
January 11th, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
his twitter account does not last long after him hitting campus.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:04 PM ^
What's his twitter? I gotta follow him.

Worth noting: Bolden now moves to top 5 in Ohio and top 10 in the Midwest. pretty nice jump for him.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:01 PM ^
Do you know where he was rated before?
I know he is outside the top247 on 247sports.com and one of their analysts said that he will for sure make a jump in the next re-rankings.
January 11th, 2012 at 6:51 PM ^
He was 95 in the previous Scout 300.
January 11th, 2012 at 3:59 PM ^
Spence and Washington both in top 10, Brionte #32 - I know it is petty but the fact that OSU can cheat rampantly for years but pull Urban Freaking Meyer as their coach and then add these guys to their class as a result...just more evidence that there is no justice in the world.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
at the AA game, but Scout is much higher on Brionte Dunn than any other site.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
I think Dunn is way overrated on scout, and I'm not just saying that because he chose Ohio over Michigan. He should be a 4 star in my opinion.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
Meyer's pulls are going to get hype because it's Urban Meyer. No reasonable person would rank Schutt higher than Pipkins (example). Still can't believe that.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:10 PM ^
It's important to note that those guys were ranked pretty high before they committed to OSU. They're highly touted, but it will be interesting to see if the coaching staff gets the most out of that talent. I'm less than impressed with Meyer's track record with defensive linemen considering the talent he has had.
Regardless, it's not like Meyer gave them a big recruiting bump. They were five stars before Meyer.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:18 PM ^
Rivals, Scout, and ESPN all have Schutt higher.
ESPN's rankings are an absolute joke. They have Pipkins as their 47th best DT.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:43 PM ^
going to change this after the AA game. They've been the hold out on Pipkins for a while, despite his dominating at any camp he attended. There are recruits ESPN needs to "take a stand on", in order to set themselves apart from other sites. They probably thought Pipkins would be one of them. Pretty obvious they got it wrong, I'm curious to see how they address it.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:48 PM ^
What's the over/under on how long until our dashing vested friend over at ESPN impresses enough people to gain some clout and fixes their shameful excuse for recruiting coverage? I hope it's not too long.
January 12th, 2012 at 8:36 AM ^
I think you're falling prey to the idea that Michigan recruits > Everyone Else's recruits. Each of the sites have Schutt higher than Pipkins, so you're essentially saying that all the recruiting sites are unreasonable and Michigan fans are the only reasonable ones. Michigan fans might be right in the long run, but you're in the minority...and you (as a Michigan fan) have an obvious bias.
January 11th, 2012 at 8:19 PM ^
...but not yet.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:05 PM ^
He's at #183 on the list and still with 4 *s.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
Was just about to add him. Thanks.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:05 PM ^
also, J. Diamond is #47. I think we still have a shot with him, unless I missed some news, which is entirely possible.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:08 PM ^
If Michigan took both Garnett and Diamond.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:08 PM ^
We have 13 commits in the top 300 and 6 in the top 100 and we arent done yet. I also think this class is underrated nationally because guys like Matt Godin, Jehu Chesson, Caleb Stacy and Terry Richardson will make a big impact.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:29 PM ^
I think Ben Braden should be added to your list as well.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:22 PM ^
I didn't realize the #3 recruiting class nationally could be considered underrated... I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone underrating our class.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
Slightly OT here but do ESPN and Rivals do one final ranking before signing day as well?
January 11th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
not sure about ESPN, but people won't like ESPN's if and when they do (they remain steadfastly underwhelmed by Pipkins).
January 11th, 2012 at 4:11 PM ^
Others in the top 100 that Scout has us listed as a "school of interest":
#9: Ronald Darby (5)
#14: Kyle Murphy (5)
#20: Darius Hamilton (5)
#27: Avery Young (5)
#47: Jordan Diamond (5)
#51: Andrus Peat (4)
#61: Nelson Agholor (4)
#72: Zach Banner (4)
#78: Javonte Mcgee (4)
#79: Armani Reeves (4); not listed, but we're interested OBVI
#85: LaDarrell McNeil (4)
January 11th, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
Agholor should be a 5*. He's about as good as any WR in this class besides DGB.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
There are about 7 or 8 guys from that list who I've never seen mentioned on this site. I'm going out on a limb here and saying that we're pretty much out of it for everybody besides Diamond and Reeves. Also, you didn't list Garnett, but he's already been mentioned in this thread so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
I listed them as talking points, not because I think we have a shot with all of them.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:35 PM ^
I wasn't trying to question your recruiting knowledge, I'm just curious as to why Scout still has them listed with interest to Michigan. Are those just notable schools who have offered, or do they just not really update them?
January 11th, 2012 at 4:14 PM ^
Disclaimer: I did this in like 2 min at work, so there might be mistakes

9 | Iowa | 45 |

12 | Minnesota | 64 |
13 | Illinois | 73 |
January 11th, 2012 at 4:33 PM ^
Nebraska getting outgunned by Indiana on the recruiting trail??? That's gotta sting.
January 11th, 2012 at 6:39 PM ^
I think Nebraska's rating is because they are limited by the size of previous classes.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:40 PM ^
Atta boy Sparty! Squeaking past Pudure (had to)! I imagine Penn State could possibly all the way below Indiana to number 10 with the ongoing shit-storm happening there.
Northwestern is putting together a solid class it seems, and Cal has got some really good players committed to them. With USC "down" the past few years along with the emergence of Oregon and Stanford, the Pac 12 is really opening up.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:24 PM ^
To go from talking about the Big Ten, to switching to the Pac 12 mid-sentence, while talking about Northwestern.
January 11th, 2012 at 6:03 PM ^
You're right.
January 11th, 2012 at 8:18 PM ^
Broke into the top 42! Way to go lil bro!
January 11th, 2012 at 4:24 PM ^
I'm really hoping we can add Armani and Garnett to this class. Armani seems like a player that could come in and get in the CB rotation early, ala Blake Countess.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:46 PM ^
Michigan is after him quite strong right now.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:28 PM ^
Yuri Wright at #146. I know there are some conflicting reports about whether he's visiting this weekend or not, but just throwing this on here.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:28 PM ^
Hopefully we get Garnett this year, and also I would love to see more high profile O-Linemen be recruited next year. With the D-Line Ohio is creating, we need to be able to protect Shane in the future.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:34 PM ^
LTT looking good for us early and the way he's racking up offers right now I wouldn't be surprised to see him ranked at the level of Garnett and Kalis this time next year.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
Hopefully we can stay in the lead for his services. I think the coaching staff has done a great job of getting in early and establishing a great relationship with him.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:26 PM ^
That's the coaching staff's plan.
January 11th, 2012 at 4:48 PM ^
Schutt ahead of Pipkins? LMAO.
January 11th, 2012 at 5:13 PM ^
Scout has waaayyy more of our commits in their top 250 than rivals
therefore, Scout is the most accurate recruiting service....for now
