Here is an article breaking down some of what was released today about sandusky & Penn State

 https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/07/12/joe-patern…

In a world struggling to provids a safe outlet for rape victims to prosecture their offenders how in the hell can Scott Paterno stand their and claim the victims are lying.  I don't have anything constructive to say except that you sir are a douche.

PSU needs to be wiped from the face of the earth along with any other group that abuses underage children.

It's gotta be a tough pill to swallow to admit your dad enabled a child molester. I can understand why he'd want to bury his head in the sand, especially since thousands of PSU (fuck Penn State) fans are doing the same...but he's wrong. Ignorance and belief are great armor, but lousy weapons.

You've demonstrated that quite well in the choices you've made in your posts in this thread.  Someday you'll do what most of us who post here have already done.  You'll grow up, become an adult, and reflect back on the words you used, the jokes you told, and the way you chose to conduct yourself.  I wish you the best in your journey.

And thanks for not feeling the need to start a new thread to make your suggestion!

This story will live (for some people) for decades if it's "news" every time a new person is shown to have an inkling or knowledge of what went down.

Sure, I could skip these threads and move along. But it's annoying for the casual visitor when decent content gets pushed off the page.

Sorry that a major news story, scandal and cover up involving a conference foe in the offseason annoys you. Everybody! Try not to annoy people with these news stories regarding a B1G team! Even if it is new information. We don't want to annoy people. Now let's all go back to our PokemonGo games.

Like it or not, this is still a big story in college football and a lot of new info came to light today. This particular thread is not very important, but I expect to see some more PSU threads today. Only caring about football was, and perhaps still is, a big part of the problem there.

I disagree...this story is all about college football. It is about Joe Paterno putting his program and his ego first while damning a substantial number of children to lives filled with demons.

One would hope that while a similar tale of woe would not be repeated at other institutions and is unique to PSU, I could certainly see it happening elsewhere when another coach puts the program first.  This is why it is important to keep harping on what went down at State College. It is a message that needs be repeated over and over.

It may not be young boys, but the saga of sexual assault at Tennessee that was recently settled should suggest to you that many programs still lack perspective and allow impropriety to be acceptable.  Read some of the discovery in the Manning case.  It isn't pretty.

Well said, you are absolutely right. These people fail to see, understand, or acknowledge that something heinous happened and are now going to the opposite end of reality. If people are tired of these threads then no need to comment. BTW, FUCK penn state and all their delusional joepa loving fans AND ALL THE PATERNOS!!!

On the one hand, we have three threads about one scandal in one conference school in one day. Yeah, it's a lot.

On the other hand, the only real effect is that it's pushing OT threads about Pokemon Go off the front page. There is no on-field discussion to speak of right now at all. In the deadest of dead periods, this is actually something new.

I'm sympathetic to both positions. But, really, there's nothing else to deal with here. And, unlike other current issues of national significance, this is one that falls within the scope of this board. So here we go.

Resist the urge to read the comments section on all JoePa/PSU related content.  I made that mistake on the article at ESPN and some guy called Paterno a martyr like Jesus.  That was it.  I have officially dropped the mic on all non-MgoBlog content today.  I will return to the rest of the sporting world after the perfectly timed All-Star Game.

I was tempted to stop into State College just to check off another CFB stadium off my list.  I also wanted to get an official answer as to what Mt. Nittany is named after.  Realized the likelihood of running into JoePa supporters and just stayed on the highway.

Thank you for letting me know what the wildlife in them hills is all about.
