Big steps since the last update - two new block M's on the bottoms with a clock and playclock. Almost finished it looks like.

I'd assume they will be PA speaker banks.

makes sense. thanks.

I would presume that there will be speakers housed behind the panels that make up the left and right columns.

Nice choice video screen guy

but who was that guy that Denard was talking to on the sidelines? Hmmm ... maybe just a ghost of the past.
Go Blue!
...resolution do you lose with a youtube embed of a mgoblue embed of a webcam of an enormous hd screen?
oh my fucking GOD

andddddddd.....my day is shot....because obviously watching highlights I've seen 1000+ times on the new scoreboard is just too exciting.

If any of you who live nearby happen to walk by the stadium while the highlights are playing, do they have audio going too, or is it just video at this point?
When the initial wave of video was playing there wasn't any audio.

Anyone know what Corio2 is?
Goggle Corio 2 there is all sorts of info about it.
I was not trying to be a smartass. I wondered too. But, then I just googled it.
It appears to be a video processing and scaling technology. If I understand it correctly, it takes input signals of various formats and converts it to a desired output size/resolution (Testing this tech probably explains the incrementally growing video display mentioned in the above comments). I believe CORIO2 also includes algorithms that try to "upscale" lower definition input to an HD output.
I have watched a missed field goal and Denard getting hurt. Not the way to break in the big-screen!
shot of Denard getting hit. Speed it up!
Seems like that screen is extremely bright (as it would need to be for daytime video). Look at how washed out the webcam is (and it's not like this is a very sunny day)!
It looks like the sun must be shining right on the webcam or something. You can barely see the screen :(. (assuming the webcame is facing the south scoreboard)
Webcam is on the north scoreboard. My (uneducated guess) is that they've slowly increased the brightness of the screen and that extra light washes out the webcam (but will look great during the day in person).
the square footage on this bad boy versus the old one? Looks monstrous, which of course is sweet.
I don't know about square footage, but I did a pixelated-area comparison and found that the new screen is roughly 5.4x bigger than the old screen.
Does anyone have today's update on the back of the scoreboards? Have they reinstalled any of the yellow panels?

The 'M' still isn't there.
The two 'M' in 'MICHIGAN STADIUM' are block M's rather than the split M. When they were installing the back of the scoreboard it appeared that it was going to be a split M. I think someone noticed the inconsistency and now there's some emergency repainting going on somewhere.

If you look at the placement of the back panels right now, they have/had all the pieces in that are entirely blue. The missing panels are all the pieces that would have the M on them. There is some reason that they are willing to patch it in later, rather than going in a logical order.
Also, the split M that was (or never was) didn't necessarily have to have a border or strikethrough. It was meant to be the basic block M, but painted in the split M style. I'm just saying that the order of panel installation isn't logical.

If use the link http://www.mgoblue.com/allaccess/?media=235147 to go to the webcam of the scoreboard, before you click to switch to full screen, look to your left, on the page you will see a split M, maybe they are trying to tell something?
It's a shame Dave Brandon is such a tight wad.
If they'd gone for a touchscreen we could have set the record for largest game of Angry Birds!

I see they are putting up some maze back panels on the north scoreboard right now.
