Score Predictions for Purdue Game

Submitted by marc_from_novi on
I'm tired of the disappointment after predicting solid victories in recent weeks. So this week I am going with Purdue 42- UM 24. Here's hoping a bit of reverse psychology works out.

drob with a monster game as he handles 4 drives himself, resulting in 2 rushing td's (one minor, one drob), one 34 yard field goal, and a goal line fumble recovered by moosman in the endzone to redeem himself. tate does well, tossing 2 tds and completing a respectable 12/17 on 2 drives. tate would play more, but drob has the hot hand going and turnovers are not an issue. M - 41, Purdue - 21.

though instead of solid victories over the last few weeks, I've been somewhat leary leading up to most conference games (MSU, Iowa, PSU and Illinois looked like a 1-3 stretch to me, excluding de facto week off DSU ... never thought 1-3 would look good from here). Was this pessimism or realism? I'm not sure. But I'm chucking both out the door this week and going with a convincing Michigan victory over the Boilers. It would be so out of character for this team. No turnovers by the O. They D takes it away a couple times. Blocks are sustained. Proper reads are made. Gaps are filled. Tackles are made with authority. Passive voice rules the day! This is our '08 Minny game, where everything comes together and the collective Mgocommunity will scratch its head and say where did that come from? Happiness returns to Hoo-ville! Michigan 42, Purdue 21. Book it. (or not)

With 900 yards of total offense between the two teams, UM wins 7-3 with a Brandon Graham blocked punt early in the first quarter. There are 37 total turnovers.

I still hold to the point that scoring 4 TDs on offense and winning will go hand-in-hand for the rest of this season. I won't predict any scores because it depends if UM vs. ND shows up or UM vs. Illinois.

I've already tried reverse psychology, as well as not posting a result; now I've moved on to nihilism.
Game postponed due to lightning. To be replayed as a double header next time teams are scheduled to meet in Ann Arbor, after 2012.

I think the game could go either way, but it will be a blow out game. Either we blow them, or they blow us. I would predict wildly UM - 45 Prudue - 17 Given that we can't score a point in the 2nd half in the previous two games. I would like to have our offense to score 45 pts in the 1st half. :D

Michigan wins! Haaaagharahhhaaya (like the yankees guy) Michigan wins! And does so with an overall stellar (gasp) defensive performance. No big plays allowed (over say 25 yards), offense plays a little ball control to give the D a break. A late turnover gives M a late scare, but a key stop seals the deal. (see my Illinois 34- Michigan 17 prediction last week as a frame of reference for my genious) We got this one folks.
