Schiano to Pitt?

The majority of Pitt fans seem to be very on board with the possibility of this hire, and I agree, it would be a good hire for them. Of course, a lot of us here on MGo can breathe a sigh of relief, as I believe most of us thought of Schiano as a desperation we-have-no-one-else hire. For Pitt it honestly could work.

LET US NOW SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT SCHIANO TO PITT TO ENSURE TO THE FOOTBALL DEITIES THAT IT HAPPENS

but the Schiano hate is beyond abnormal. Is he amazing? Fuuu no! Yet, is he a horrible COLLEGE coach? No. You have one job to go on AFA HC experience and it's 16 yr old Miami (YTM) assistant taking over a Rutgers program who's rotting carcass you could smell from Nevada. Ok, the wood chopping season was his only of great exposure but do you realize how young he was and where he took that program with zero budget, history after 1896, a field that I think was made of concrete mixed with broken glass, etc? Oh, and the job was in the talent cliff State of New Jersey where every kid wanted to go anywhere but Rutgers. Oh, and he had Penn State/ND overshadowing & notoriously poaching those Catholic League kids every year. The fact that he did what he did with them as a 13 year old HC kinda says he isn't the worst. In fact, other than being a dick (surely the only dick HC in football) I see a guy that is still young, has over a decade of HC experience in CFB & the NFL (!), recruited well, developed talent and ran a clean program. TRUST ME, Pitt and even Michigan could do worse. I don't want him but the meme hatred of the guy is becoming a lame joke.
