I love these kinds of pics--tangible, objective verification that this thing I'm experiencing is real.  And thanks to the name on the right, the one on the left doesn't say something like "Schiano."

Schlissel deserves big kudos too, but Hackett has my vote to keep his name up there as long as he'd like it to be.  I'm sure the University facilities people did their usual outstanding job on the paint.

All I can say is that if the NFL doesn't believe it now, they never will. Indeed, this might very well get spun by someone at NFL.com or ESPN as a story about how Harbaugh left the NFL for Michigan because he couldn't get a properly stenciled parking lot sign from other NFL teams. Watch for this story sometime afte Schefter and La Canfora are committed to various institutions.

that the process to land a candidate can be described as a series of workstreams.  Each workstream could be represented on a chart with the candidate's name on the Y axis and time represented on the X.  The activities required to contact, assess interest, determine interest on our end, line up support for the candidate etc would fall into each swimlane.

All this is immaterial, I guess, since I think there really was just one candidate.  Hackett couldn't say that, of course, which is part of the genius of his approach.

referred to the fact that the candidates had their own timelines (lanes), regarding when they would be available, and we have our lane.  We could have gone for a Schiano immediately, or taken a risk and waited until someone could talk to us or accept an offer.  Some candidates had a bowl game before 12/31, and may have lined up better than others occupied until later.

If JH had made the playoffs, his "lane" may have not lined up with ours, as we may have had to pull the trigger before he was willing to take his focus from his current job.

But none of that matters now! Hahahahahaha!!!

It was just reported by Adam Schefter and ESPN that this sign was just stolen by the Chicago Bears and placed outside of Soldier Field. An obvious sign that the NFL is still in play for JH!
