Schedule for Midwest Regionals
I've searched online for a schedule for the Midwest Regional games, but can't find anything yet. Does anyone know whether we are the first or second game on Friday and what times those games will be? Also, any idea what time the game will be on Sunday (if we are fortunate enough to make it)?
Go Blue!
Are the Midwest games Friday and Sunday? I didn't even know that, but it's good info.
Yep. And I went to ticket websites in search if times and it's all listed as TBD still.
Michigan will be playing the late game on Friday night.
I would venture to say that Michigan V Tenn or Mercer will be the early game, while Louisville V Kentucky or Wichita State will be the late game. That could be on of the marquee games of the weekend.
Now, if it was Mich V Duke, that would have been a different story.
Last year, Kansas v. Michigan was early game and Florida v. Dunk City was second game. I would think our game was more of the marquee matchup but we were first anyways.
The marquee game in one region will be first; the marquee game in the other region will be second, and they'll stagger the games a bit, starting the early-marquee region before the late-marquee region.
If North Carolina wins today they might choose that; otherwise they'll probably choose MSU/whoever over UConn/Iowa State. I'm guessing they'll have that be the early marquee and UL/UK the later.
Just in case anyone hasn't seen it yet...
LINK - this is the NCAA website's interactive bracket, which should update with networks and times for the next round as soon as they are known. This is what I have been using to keep track of when the games are on anyway, and it does have the scores in case anyone has missed a game here and there.
my guess is that they will have msu and our games at opposite times. if it's msu/Virginia, I bet they get they get the 7 pm slot and we play the late game
Here is the question, how much do they care about Michigan and Michigan state not playing at the same time. Probably the two "biggest" games will be msu v. Virginia and Lville v. UK. If they go late with Lville v. UK, they either have to put M v. MSU against each other in the 7 timeslot or put the two biggest games if the night against each other in the 9 slot. My guess is that Michigan and MSU will probably both play in the early timeslot.
I would much prefer the Thursday/Saturday.
What is the difference? I'm just curious. Personal preference?
Friday/Sunday gives us a extra day off after a long BIG tourney weekend
Allows me to drink without worries of having t be at work the next day.
Me, too with Thur/Sat. Mainly due to traveling I'll have to watch a possible Sunday game at a sportsbar or my laptap rather than ensconced at my home.
Fri/Sun gives us an extra day off this week but Thurs/Sat gives us an extra day off before Final Four weekend
I don't know if that really matters. The national semifinals are on Saturday, so there will be plenty of time to rest regardless.
Yeah, I'm not sure it matters either, but if anything I'd rather get the extra day off now. Michigan has played a lot of basketball lately -- five games over nine days -- and the extra rest before the Final Four could be more distracting than helpful.
UK and Louisville are going to bring a ton of supporters....ticket prices are going to be going up...UP....UPPPPP!!!!
Go Blue!!!!!
There's no way in hell that the NCAA isn't making UK/Louisville the late game
receiving licks as we speak.
One nice thing about sharing a regional with Louisville, Kentucky and Tennessee: no matter who the opponent might be, there'll be a lot of people in the stands that hate them.
That is a pretty interesting point!
The whole Commonwealth of Kentucky will be in Indy. Sucks for local fans like me who are just trying to see Michigan without taking out a second mortgage.
I live down here. It's already getting ugly. Neighbors not talking to each other. The place is going to be packed and loud.
I want no part of UK. I hope we get a rematch with Louisville
Umm I have faith that Beilein will coach circles around Cheaterpari
This morning, the cheapest ticket on Stubhub was around $98. Just checked right now, and cheapest ticket jumped to $143. Anyone have any guesses what a ticket on the street would cost?
I would think regardless of who Michigan plays, everyone will be pulling for the underdog vs Mercer/Tennessee. I'm planning on heading over if Michigan makes the round of 8. That should be a much cheaper ticket on the secondary market.
Anyone think that our familiarity with the arena/court will help us during these next rounds? We just played there 2 weeks ago.
It is at Lucas Oil stadium the Colts stadium not the Pacers
Ugh I forgot about how they like to put hear games in football stadiums so they can have 40,000 empty seats. Forget the familiarity then.
I actually don't think there will be many, if any, empty seats at Lucas Oil this year. First factor, UK/UL will be a crazy draw for those fan bases. Secondly, they aren't using the whole stadium like Dallas or the Georgia Dome, they are only using one half of the stands and curtaining off the rest of the stadium.
Very well could. One less thing our guys have to adapt to. Sighlines at some of these places are goofy (think big domes). We know this places pretty well, 3 games worth. Again, a place they really don't have to acclimate to, too much.
The BTT is played in the Pacers' home arena (formerly Conseco Fieldhouse, forget what it's called now). This will be played in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Bankers Life
I snuck in with 2 tickets on Ticketmaster before the UK game went final. I hope we are the second game so I can move up to a better seat. I can't imagine the bitter fans of the losing team will want to stick around for our game when they can just drive home or go drown their sorrows elsewhere. Also, the secondary market for Sunday will be fantastic if we win Friday. Just catch the losing fans on their way out and ask nicely to buy their Sunday tickets. That worked well last year when I bought floor seats for the Florida game from Kansas fans.
Is there only one ticket for Fridays games? Meaning if someone walks out of the stadium after the first game, can you get back in with their ticket? Most sporting events, once you leave you can't back in, correct? I could be wrong.

Friday game on CBS.
We are followed on CBS by Louisville/Kentucky
We go head to head with ISU vs UCONN on TBS
Staee plays on TNT vs (probably Virginia) in the late game
