Referring to the Illinois fanbase as "Illini nation".
Really? Really? You do realize that no one outside your borders (and most people inside them) couldn't possibly care less about Illinois football, right? And Illini nation DOES refer to something, an actual American Indian tribe. Sorry, Illinois, try again.

Maybe they were talking about the tribe...
Not that I loved Rich Rod less, but that I loved Michigan more.
I thought Illinois fans thought of Michigan as their biggest rival?
But they really want to Muck some team called Fichigan.
He hasn’t been there a year and they want Beckman fired?
as luck would have it I'm existing in the filter bubble.
If you meant to be ironic or sarcastic, but recent history here at Michigan should temper our criticism or reaction to opposing fans and their comments about their school's coach.
Any good Sparty Schadenfreude out there?
Should've kept Zook. It's like they say...
In the country of the blind
Illini, man, is king!
Scheelhaase's Father (mother, aunt, uncle and cousins) were at the table next to my mother and I at breakfast this morning. I didn't realize it at first but he was a really nice genuine guy and I wished him luck when we left.
I don't kick other teams when they are down, with just three exceptions. ND, MSU ( if Michigan has beat them and finally any team that is coached by Danny Hope.
Illinois has been an interesting and exciting team to watch the last few years. I just would like them to be a bit more competitive.
The Michigan difference...
They should spend some of their BTN cash on an actual coach next time. What else are they going to do with it?
Michigan: 903–315–36 (Best in NCAA)
vs Ohio State: 58-44-6
vs Notre Dame: 23-16-1
vs MSU: 68-32-5
vs B1G: 522-197-24
vs SEC: 20-8-1
vs PAC 12: 48-24-1
vs Big 12: 10-5-1<
Don't know why they're upset. New coach, lost elite talent, played Michigan. What did they expect to happen in a downpour with Scheelhaase injured.
How many times have you been on the freeway and had someone fly by you at 100 mph then end up 2 cars ahead of you at the off ramp? What's the point? -Mark Harmon
Wow, that was actually kinda sad to read. At least when RR was here it was only for a little bit but Illinois has sucked, basically forever. My family is full of Illini grads and it's pretty much a running joke of how bad they are and how nobody even cares anymore.
And won as many Big Ten titles as we have since 2001.
Not exactly forever, just inconsistent.
M'Dog
We've won two, they've won one. The last time they went to the Rose Bowl they weren't Big Ten champs.

Most of them are idiots. Beckman is a good coach. What is he supposed to do with the something like 60th ranked recruiting classes the last three years Zook was there? Who else do they think they're gonna get?

"I would bet that even with no coaching experience whatsoever, I could get equal or greater results than Beckman so far."

Yeah, there is some pretty delicious stuff over there.

after MSU loses. This is my favorite so far...
(Initial comment) "I am sure he would have split the uprights."
(Reply) "Stfu. I didn't say whether or not he would make it. I was responding to the clown who said it would have been at least 53 yards. If that clown was you, then Stfu x2."
"I promise you we would have walked to the University of Michigan." - Brady Hoke
"Beckman can't be fired. It was hard enough to get anyone to coach here as it was. To let him go after one year would be a joke. No coach would ever want to come here."
I hate to say that this is perhaps the most sensible comment in the thread that the OP posted. They are going to have to give him time unless they really do in fact want to give up. Indeed, someone in this thread referenced the Lou Tepper years as something of a travesty when indeed, of the three head coaches before Beckman, Tepper was the most successful by overall winning percentage (0.431), with Ron Zook a somewhat close second (0.411).

At least they can afford a CiL...

I suppose they could go back to the formula that worked so well under Mike White.
But with the recent problems the school's had, a full-scale pay-for-play scandal probably isn't what they need right now.
since we're Illinois' biggest rival.
Love & Hate are horns on the same goat.
250-300 fans to Ann Arbor. That has to be the worst I can remember from a Big Ten team in years and years.
