I wish Falk would get a shot. .350 hitter with power who has improved throughout the season and whose insertion into the lineup coincides almost exactly with the winning streak.
I get that Haylie Wagner is a senior and wants to hit, but it's hard to argue that she's anywhere near as effective at the plate.
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. I get that at points we've used the DP spot to keep our options open for multiple pitching changes, but I would like to see Falk's bat in there. That said, if Wagner had hit that ball just a couple degrees to the right last night ...
I suppose at this point it's irrelevant. We have a great team, period. Go Blue!
Didn't she hit in the WCWS First Round as was shaky out there?
I think she had three at bats vs Alabama and drew a walk in one. Not much of a sample size compared to the rest of the season.
Second game she was in the starting lineup but was replaced before getting a chance at the plate by Wagner (when Wagner came in to pitch for Betsa) and hasn't been seen since.
for those of us on the road and not able to follow on TV.
I've been kinda doing a play by play the last couple games out of my jittery nervous energy. I'll probably do so again tonight.

Two things Hutch needs to do to win today. 1. Pitch Wagner until her arm falls off. 2. intentially walk Florida's hefty girl every time unless the bases are loaded. Even then, maybe. Only two hits for the rest of their squad last night.

Get your minds out of the gutter. "Fisted" was being used as a baseball term long before it started showing up as a sexual one. It means the batter hit the ball off the bat right above their fists.
