SB loses a heart-breaker to VT 3-2
The softball team dropped a heart-breaker to VT today at Cal State Fullerton. VT took the win 3-2 with some timely hitting.
We were down 3-0 and had bases loaded in the 6th. Sara put one over in RF foul territory for the sac fly and an RBI. We could not score any more. VT did not score in the top half of the 7th.
In the bottom of the 7th, Amy Knapp hit a double to deep center which scored Ashley Lane, who drew a walk, for a 3-2 score. Jacklyn Crummy came in to PR for Amy. We just could not get a key hit to tie it up.
Haylie started and took the loss. She pitched 4.2 innings, gave up 1 ER off 3 hits. She had 3 Ks and 0 BB but had 2 HBP. Sara came on in relief and gave up 2 ER on 2 hits. She stuck out 2 and walked 1.
This loss is a killer. We should have took this game but just could not get a key hit. We had plently of opportunity to continue a rally but just could not get it.
Keep up the hard work ladies. We are proud of you all.
Jasmin Harrell can really pitch.
Jasmin Hails from irving California. Thus far this year she is 7-1 with a 1.47 ERA in 51.2 innings. She has given up 40 hits, 17 runs (11 ER), 44 Ks and 17BB. She has an opponent BA of .209.
These are not dominating stats but they are very good ones. VT problems are not pitching, its hitting. VT is good enough to make the tourney.
inthebluelot is a misogynist asshole who needs to get a life.
On topic, sometimes you learn something from the tough losses that will benefit you later in the season. Hopefully this was one of those losses.

She (inthebluelot) is probably a sparty troll anyway and probably never set foot on campus. She downvotes any post if the thread is not football. There is no Michigan Man on the planet who would downvote a non revenue sport. We are a family and we support all our brothers and sisters regardless of the sport they choose.
This is Michigan. We are more than a football school. We are a family. She (inthebluelot) just does not "get it" as DB says. Sometimes I wish the trolls were banned.
