SB Loses first game to Minny 1-0
The SB Team lost today to Minny 1-0 at Alumni Field. This is the first B1G loss for the Leaders and Best.
Minny Sr. Pitcher Sara Moulton was just too much for the good guys. She held us to just 3 hits, 2 by Taylor and 1 from Lyndsay. We had a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the 7th but could not get her home. Relief pitcher Sara Groenewegen finished the final 2 and 2/3 innnings without giving up a hit.
Haylie was the starting pitcher and went 5 and 2/3 innings. She allowed 1 run (ER) off 8 hits. Sara come on in relief and did not give up a hit.
Moulton is one of the most under-rated players in the B1G. She has been the Minny starting pitcher for 4 years and has improved every single year. She has given us trouble the past few years. I, for one, will be happy to see her graduate.
Tomorrow's game is in prime time on the BTN. It should be a great game so everyone check it out.

Runs are a premium against Minnesota's pitching staff. This is a playoff level series. Can't wait for the next game.

Wagner kept them in the game, you have to have more than 3 hits to score runs. Yes, she gave up 8 hits but only 1 run, 7 K's, no walks and her ratio of pitches, 78 K's to 22 balls, impressive. A loss was bound to happen, but it keeps you grounded, humble and just that more hungry for the win, which is what they will do today and tomorrow.
