SB loses to #10 USF 3-2
The SB stopped singing "Stayin' Alive" and the bats went silent against #10 USF. USF Pitcher Sara Nevins kept us at bay today as we could only muster 1 hit.
The lone hit was a 2-run dinger from Sierra Romero in the first. Sara Driesenga started in the circle and did a very good job. She gave up 3 runs on 5 hits; she walked none and struck out 2. Sara faced 19 batters and forced 9 ground outs and 3 fly outs. This is a good ratio.
Coach Hutch is certainly spreading out the playing time not only with the pitchers but with position players too.
Overall, this loss was not a bad showing considering Nevins is a top ten pitcher. Lets regroup and get them tomorrow.

Or weekend, really. At least M went 1-1 today, and it's not like this is likely to kill them in the rankings either.
Edit: The day is younger than I was giving it credit for. Maybe good things are in store.

Frustrating day all around in sports. With any luck, my other basketball team (Catholic University of America - Div III) will lock up their conference tonight. Something's gotta go right!

it was not a poor performance by our girls. USF is a very good team. We are a very young team and still learning.

Do you think Michigan gets the B1G Championship again? Or tournament?

some weight around the B1G when it comes to softball. I would like to see the winner of the B1G Tournament gets to host the following year.
Delany will probably want to have it at a central location to reduce travel costs. Now with the addition of Maryland and Rutgers, travel will be a problem. There is exactly 1200 miles between Lincoln and New Brunswick.
