Saturday Night Open Hoops Thread

It is flat out amazing how every single damn girl in Cameron is freaking hideous.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising, but they're just so remarkably thorough.

The guys, too.

Year in, year out, that is the ugliest crowd in the universe.

You have to admire the dedication and spirit of the Cameron Crazies. I mean, there is putting on the school colors and then there is looking like you were near an explosion at a Sherwin-Williams paint store and then putting on a fright wig hoping no one will notice your injuries. To me, that is a dedicated fan - also, a deeply disturbed individual.

They are truly committed, no doubt. They are also a sad, strange, deeply antisocial bunch, and it's my opinion that they stopped being funny about thirty years ago.

Also, clearly none of them own mirrors. There ought to be a law against some of those outfits. Or at least someone could install some damn gym equipment in K-Ville.

Man, fuck ESPN for not showing a second of us cutting down the nets and putting all fifty minutes toward two teams playing to avoid the four seed in their conference. Bastards.

The refs are to bad calls at Cameron as crack addicts are to crack.

If the new rules speak to an offensive player starting his shooting motion, that offensive foul call is just absurd.

Dick Vitale is terrible these days. I wish he would retire. He literally says the same thing over and over and over and over....

Every play(er) is a "BIG TIME PLAY(ER), BABY!" My finger is always on the mute button just in case I can't handle it anymore.

really don't concur with a lot of the Vitale hate these days. He was painful to listen to for a couple of years when he had his throat issues, but I think he has had a couple of good calls the last couple of years. His Izzo man love is off putting for sure, but I think the anti Vitale movement is misplaced.

Fair enough, but I have never really liked him and it just annoys me when I hear him say stuff about big time play(er)s constantly about everything throughout games. I don't hate the guy, I just prefer not to listen to him. Just a matter of preference. I wish Gus Johnson called games for ESPN.

Rooting for either Duke or UNC in basketball feels like rooting for entitled douchebags battling against slightly less entitled douchebags.

Iowa loses this game, and OSU beats MSU tomorow, we'd have Nebraska and OSU on our side of the BTT bracket, and Wisconsin, OSU, and Iowa on the other side, which would be nice.

They're talking to an assistant coach? TV contracts will let you do that to the station? Glass just shattered in the minds of football coaches around the country.

Question: Why the eff does Coach K get away with letting Wojo do the halftime interviews??! I don't care one way or another, I don't listen to the boring talking points every coach says at that moment, but the double standard irks me a bit.

The collapse by Iowa has been about as fascinating and horrible (look away) as one could imagine.

This is like watching a guy get knocked out in slow motion, a slow, sickening slump and crumble to the canvas.

Iowa is just a very stupid basketball team.  Gesell gives away the foul with a 5 second shot/game clock differential.  And then White plays for the steal instead of actually affecting the shot.

I hate Duke, UNC, and Kentucky not because they win, but because there's always that guy you know that is a fan of one college football team but he's a fan of one of those three in basketball. And expects you to take him seriously.
