Saturday night drinking thread
Sipping on some Jim Beam Devil's Cut and watching the Packers-Vikings game. What is everyone else drinking?

BW's with the family....some Sam's winter, now tearing through a sixer of snow day.
Cheers!
January 5th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
...typically go dark in the winter, but decided to switch it up for a refreshing summber beverage tonight. Can't be made at myself.
January 5th, 2013 at 8:53 PM ^
Can't tell if those are normal typos or drunk texting...
January 5th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
Not a strong suit.
Apologies.
Anyway, ran out of Broker's after a cup and a half and had to switch to Bombay...should be a solid night.
Godspeed and GO BLUE!

Beer again. Little Sumpin (Lagunitas). After a long day of softball evaluations for my kids...a pitcher/catcher twin duo.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
Good choice. That's what I'm drinking as well. It's pretty delicious.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:32 PM ^
Easy to find and delish.
So even when boring, its yummy.

John Stamos?
((instant crush))
January 5th, 2013 at 10:19 PM ^
But he's a time traveler from the past. He's the Mullet John Stamos.
Office holiday party tonight for me, so I'm mixing it up well. A little merlot, a bud light, Dewars, now a little whiskey and coke. Open bar demands variety. I wish they had a better beer selection, but I've got Two Hearted at home.
January 6th, 2013 at 12:50 AM ^
Mullet.

Just made the wife and I some White Russians
January 5th, 2013 at 9:54 PM ^
I just did the same for the wife and me.
January 5th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
I am sipping some of the wine I found on sale - Marques de Caceres 2008. A most excellent Rioja wine and highly recommended by me. This, coupled with the Minnesota-Green Bay game makes for a very nice evening indeed.
January 5th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
Water with any cold medicine I can find mixed in.
January 5th, 2013 at 8:58 PM ^
How is the Devil's Cut? I've been meaning to try it, just haven't got around to it.
I'm definitely a fan of all of the bolder rums and whiskeys that are coming out.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:01 PM ^
Have you tried Captain Morgans private stock? It's got a nice vanilla spice and goes down smooth enough to be a true sipping rum, which sounds strange, I know.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
I thought it was strange when someone at work recommended drinking it straight but I was impressed at how good it tasted by itself.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:04 PM ^
Strong but I really like it. I drink it with a few ice cubes just to tame it down a bit. I have had it with coke and that got me drunk pretty fast. I would recommend it.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:10 PM ^
How do they get the stuff out of the wood? I've been kinda nervous to try it since I have no idea how they produce it.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:14 PM ^
Could they put the wood in some sort of press and get the flavor out and then filter the liquid? Either that or it is just artificial flavor and they lie on the bottle.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
Started with a Cuba libre using some nice Cuban rum I got for my wedding, now I'm drinking a Fixed Gear Red Ale. Lakefront Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wi. New glarus ain't got shit on Lakefront.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
I've never had Lakefront, but I am a huge fan of New Glarus
January 5th, 2013 at 9:16 PM ^
Agreed. Lakefront > New Glarus (but not by the wide margin you suggest)
January 5th, 2013 at 9:24 PM ^
The wide margin is probably a product of the rum. I thoroughly enjoy fat squirrel and their sour beers, but for every day drinking ill take lakefront or Flaming Damsel from Milwaukee brewing co
January 5th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
I, too, call Milwaukee home... Thought have had to live in Kenosha for the past few years. The wife and I are moving back to Milwaukee proper in a few months, I could not be more excited.

Rich, dark, and sexy on a Saturday night...
January 5th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
water and lemonade. I'm on painkillers for my knee and Mucinex for my head, so the last thing I need is anything alcoholic.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
if you had alcohol you wouldn't need the pain killers.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Tried that last night. I'll stick with the pills tonight and hopefully won't wake up with it even more swollen than it is tonight (like I did this morning).
January 5th, 2013 at 10:24 PM ^
Go for the hydrocodone martini, man! Your brain cells never liked you anyway.
January 5th, 2013 at 10:40 PM ^
I'll ask what they think about it.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:27 PM ^
Watching the game. Jameson on the rocks...dog sleeping at my feet. Doesn't get much better.
January 5th, 2013 at 9:31 PM ^
Just finished a bomber of Epic Pale Ale and moving on to a bottle of HOPSLAM next. Hahahahah (to you ppl who have to wait on some silly "distributor")

Dragon's milk and Joe Webb makes Denard look like Joe Montana.
January 5th, 2013 at 10:26 PM ^
I hear opposing things about Seattle brewers. One person will say they're some of the best, the next will say they can't brew for crap. What's your take?
And will that beer really transport me to Asgard?
January 5th, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Elysian puts out a nice range of beers. So do Maritime and Hales and Scuttlebutt and Georgetown and Pike and a bunch of others. Outstate and Oregon have plenty too. No complaints here. I actually changed my mind and went with a Silver City scotch ale instead. 22 ouncer of Bi wasn't cold. Silver City @ 9.2%, Bi only 7.4%, only.

Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla Porter whilst sitting in front of the fire. The Vanilla Porter is good; nothing to write home about but not bad either.
