I'll be starting with a Bell's Porter or three. What say you?

They had Bells for $7.99 at my local foodtown. Actually, also had Founders for $8.99. I went with two hearted. I will be enjoying a good four dollars worth tonight.

Then maybe Mr. Beam and coke.

Seriously, right now I'm using some ice water to rally from an early afternoon buzz. Not sure what I'll get tonight, although whiskey sounds tempting. Kroger has gift boxes for both Canadian Club and JB Red Stag (what's everyones opinion on this? I had it on special Thursday night and liked it, but I'm not sure I want a whole bottle) at really good prices, maybe I'll grab one of those.

Picked up the holiday set last week. You get a handy shot glass for your collection and a couple samples of the other red stag offerings. I suggest the stag on the rocks, with cola, or with Vernors. Enjoy. You have reminded me to pour some for my own enjoyment.

I am not drinking a lot, but I have a Miller Lite now. Love when M wins, as it makes watching other games so much more fun.

Bells best brown and side cars of powers on the rocks. I like to call it my purple haze!

Was that a pun?!???

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat.  Made with MI cherries, or so they say, so I consider it a local brew.  I got a six of this stuff to serve as a bridge between the fall beers that I just polished off and the yearly Sam Adams Winter Sampler I always get for the Christmas season, but I fear after today's dent in the supply, it might not make it to Thanksgiving.  (I'm very insistent that not one single Christmas tradition starts until after Thanksgiving.)

On an unrelated note, I watched Snatch this past week.  I wonder if "that's not actually Christopher Walken putting on a British accent" is one of things that everyone knows but was at one point mistaken about, sort of like "Steely Dan is a band, not one guy."

I went dog shit cheap because I'm looking for a quick buzz to help forget about a weekend that should have been balls to the wall enjoyable. Instead, it started with us getting to A2 WAY later than I hoped, leaving much sooner than I expected, and culminating with the silent treatment.

Not the parents weekend I had dreamed of.

I'm out of just about everything in my liquor cabinet that could be considered "drinkable". However, tomorrow at noon, I will be purchasing a bottle of Chopin or Belvedere, the contents of which will be combined with the bottle of Clamato juice in my refrigerator. Blood Caesars, here I come!

Dude. Come on. A premium vodka used for Bloody Mary's?

I only drink top shelf vodkas. And I love me some Sunday morning Bloody Mary's. But to spend that kind of money to mask under clamato juice, worschteshire sauce, and spices seems somewhat blasphemous.

It ought to be a crime to sully top shelf vodka like that. Except there's no way that my wife will allow me to buy two bottles of vodka (I can barely convince her of the need for one - she doesn't drink at all). Therefore, for the times when I want a martini, I need to buy the good stuff.

Okay I had to leave the room to laugh at that. I was at my moms and went through some old VHS tapes she had stashed in the basement for a nostalgia trip. Seems like the commercial for that stuff was on every other commercial. As a result, that damn jingle was stuck in my head.

Coming down from being cross-faded trying to recover from that epic game.  Holy crap, what a set of afternoon games though.  Woke up just in time to see A&M clinch it and the blown call in the Penn State game, which occurred almost simultaneously on the dual-TV screen I was watching, what a mix of excitement, sadness, and inebriation.

I've been at work since noon. It's been what we in the industry call, "a bitch." I will be on my way home at midnight and I anticipate cracking into a six-pack of Bell's Oarsman.

Me, my beer, some leftover pizza, and the DVR watching the end of today's game. At that point, all the bullshit that has been Saturday will go away.
