Potential #1 Seed Syracuse in a
tight one with EDIT: Lost to(!) Temple (this kind of thing actually matters now!). Big nonconf games for Ohio, Illinois, and Sparty.
Let's go purple aces! Beat Butler!
Got my longest ESPN streak for the cash streak on Temple +15. Was pretty nervous about that pick. Let's go Owls.
Ballsy! I never got past 2 when I did those "Streak fo Cash".
I didn't start watching unitl the second half but Temple is looking very good in this game (sounds like some Syracuse pressure got to them though in this second half). The touted Carter-Williams only has two field goals in this game thus far (along with six free throws).
College Bball is a funny game. Canisius beat Temple by 14 at Temple and lost to Syracuse by 14 at Syracuse.
@Liacouras Center vs. Canisius TU looked brutal this week...they are def. a better team as noted today.
I wonder how many games we could lose and still get a 1 seed. MSU got one with 7 losses last year, but they had a tougher non conference and won the big ten tourney.
If we win the B1G after going undefeated in noncon we'll get a 1 seed however many losses we have. With the depth this year the winner could definitely pile up half a dozen losses or more.
Controlling the game vs. Cuse
Best moment: Temple fans chant "Lord and Taylor" at Syracuse shoplifter...I'll always love you Philadelphia.
That kid is amazing. 15 for 15 from the line? Yeow.......
The guy played out of his mind. Going into the game he was 77% from the line.
Yeah, like most upsets, one team's best player has an off day and runs into a another team who has one their best games.
Hopefully people will stop acting like Michael Carter-Williams is the best PG in college now.
I'd MUCH rather have Burke than MCW. I love our team..
Michael Carter-Williams did not play the game of the best pg in the nation that many of you have argued he is...
3/15 fg, 7/15 ft, 4 asst and 3 turnovers. Granted he is allowed to have off games but he is not as flawless as many have argued.
I'd give some credit to Temple's defence...Coach Fran Dunphy is good and knows what he is doing.
Ya, he has a really good free throw shooting defense scheme that held him to
Under 50% from the charity stripe....
Also, they just lost to canisius handily so I'm not sure if you can only point to his coaching. If anything, mcw just had a crappy game.
Teams ave bad losses in men's basketball and Canisius was certainly that. Dunphy, like Chaney before him has been a consistent 20 plus wins and tourney team over the years.
Syracuse lost when Temple controlled the second half and handled their press. That's coaching.
MSU would really suck without Gary Harris. I think he could leave after this year and go in the 1st round.
Hopefully he does... I think he is good enough to be drafted towards the bottom of the 1st round
are you the former WingsNWolverines or do you just have the same picture?
Bilas really went off about that players suspension. Kind of awkward.
My favorite thing to do on a Saturday that michigan isn't playing is watch Derrick Nix run......too funny
Nix with a nice first half. I've never been sold on this dude but he is having a decent game today.
Good thing is, the way JMo runs the floor, Nix will only last a few possessions on the court before he is gassed. Also, Texas has not bodied him up on defense, making him look a bit better than he is. He is certainly a better offensive player in the half court than Morgan is, but he will have a tough time matching up with him over the course of a game.
He won't show up for the next game.
It's kinda cool how msu has an izzone alumni game
Tom Izzo is such a child.
the more he looks likes a cross between Rollie Massimino and Ray Meyer.
I don't get this joke because I have no idea who either of those people are. Please use cartoon charachters instead.
Nix has a sweet tattoo of Michigan on his arm.
Can someone please gif that Izzo crying/whining into his hands before the last break?
And will some announcer please have the courage to call out what has long been a laughable and over-wrought acting/reacting routine by Izzo?
OSU - Kansas started up on CBS. I'm switching over.
This Mclemore kid for Kansas is sickkkkk
Definitely a one and done kid.
EDIT: McLemore is one of those "older" freshman. McLemore will be a 21 year old Freshman as of 2-12-13, all the more reason for him to leave for the NBA.
Matta wishes he had the 614 boys: Trey Burke and Caris LeVert
Who else thinks gray uniforms are terrible? I didn't like eastern's and I've never liked ohio's.
Is in some trouble!
They just don't have a lot of good shooters, they are way over rated IMO
Maybe, but their two (likely) losses are to two possible #1 seeds. Could you guarantee that we would beat KU and Duke? Sure we could, but Ohio also has the potential to do that. They almost bear Duke at Cameron Indoor.
they would have to keep up with us scoring baskets, they wouldn't be able to key on 1 or 2 guys against us. They would have to pick their poison.
they only really have 1 1/2 guys who can score the basket, Thomas and either Scott or Thompson might be on some nights but not consistently. Craft plays defense well and that's it, he dribbles okay I guess and shoots like shit mostly.
They will have a really hard time keeping up with us.
regarding suckeyes, breaks my heart....not actually
I love me some MLive
Loving this. Keep it up, Kansas. Fuck OSU.
ends up being a better team than ohio
it will be ugly, the bigs in that game will be hilarious to watch. We dodged a bullit by not getting Amir Williams, he sucks. I don't understand how he was a highly rated 4-Star. playing against small white guys in H.S. maybe?
Kansas has taken 12 less shots than OSU but has 7 more field goals. Frigid shooting is going to do the Buckeyes in" 29.5%
ohio team that was leading Duke for most of the game before they lost in Durham, maybe Duke ain't that great either.
Are beyond bad! All 3 of them!
I like these guys. I enjoy Clark Kellog as well as anyone. Clark is cool.
Clark is and always will be fantastic.
has let the B1G down....again, by being over rated. But I'm not minding them suffering, at all.
Well deserved to a fan base that has gone to shit over the last decade.
The Big 12 plays a much more exciting brand of basketball compared to the BIG, but hopefully things are changing, with M more athletic and the job Groce is doing at Illinois.
10 Illinois against 12 Missouri is an interesting matchup. 17-16 Illinois with 11 to go in the half
Edit: forgot Missouri is now in the SEC. Doesn't seem right.
If I were a dick I would go over to 11warriors and bump the Craft vs Burke thread they had from earlier this year. They are in a bit of a melt down over there.
has not looked real good today and in other recent games. Makes you appreciate the diverse weapons we have. With our coaching and guard play if we have can just have our bigs not let their counterparts go off, I am liking our chances more and more for a big10 title.
Did anyone else see Valentine get between two players during play? He put his elbow out and started blocking a defender! This guy should be fined for that. He always has been the most visible ref in the college game when the goal should be to not be noticed. Awful.
Something tells me this Gopher team will go real far in March/April.
Them and us are the class if the B1G.
They've looked impressive, but Tubby Smith's teams often seem to peak early and then stumble later on in the season.
Hopefully they can close it out and boost Michigan's non-conference SOS.
On a different note, Florida's jerseys are making my TV bleed. They are hard to look at.
I think k-state will take it. Go cats!
Cuse goes down, Ohio goes down, and K-State takes Florida. Great day for basketball, if only Illinois had pulled it out.
Conference pride notwithstanding, it's always great to see Ohio lose
The Braves almost pulled off a solid win on the road, falling to the Hokies by a point in OT.
