Sarkisian to the Falcons
Sad times for Nick Saban and Alabama:
Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian is poised to replace Kyle Shanahan as Falcons' new OC, as @Schultz_Report reported.

Until you remember that Chip Kelly is still out there unemployed.
Also, my favorite Sark at Alabama memory was that one time he coached them in the national championship game. So many good memories.

now that the highly touted class for FAU has been signed - do you think Kiffin would bolt back to 'Bama?
His "Hype" video certainly made me think he is open to opportunities...lol

USC -> Bama -> Atlanta. That is way fewer than 12 steps.
February 7th, 2017 at 11:52 AM ^
I see what you did there.
He also seems to have taken Kiffin's power of falling upward into better jobs for no apparent reason.

I think that the rule has softened now that American politics has positioned itself to be openly mocked. (Some may argue that has been like this for ages, but we can't pretend it hasn't been a frying pan to fryer transition.)
Almost every thread on here has some sort of thinly veiled reference to the profound idiocy of Donald Trump. Hell, if you squink REALLY hard, you may see some political messages in our signatures. If Brian wants to keep this site apolitical, he should probably issue a renewed message to do so.
Either way, we can all agree that we should be well armed to protect from random bear attacks.

You gotta vote, man. It's a civic duty. I do "get it" when it comes to not voting, I've wrestled with it myself, but it's too important to not participate.

I'm 100000% on board with keeping it out of here; but you don't care? Like at all?? Seriously?

I mean, sure, no Holocaust is better than Holocaust, but the Autobahn is rad. How can you even choose?

I say yes...

Oh, she deserves it.
She got "promoted" because she has no discernable talent, knows it, and therefore works cheap.
ESPN is out of money.

The symmetry of being equally upvoted and negged 13 times is oddly pleasing...borderline erotic, as Coach Bert would say.
February 7th, 2017 at 2:13 PM ^
And I just screwed it up by bumping your upvotes to 14. Dammit!

I forgive thee, Clarence.

Sark: USC -> Bama -> Falcons
Kiffin: USC -> Bama -> USF
Someone is doing it wrong.
February 7th, 2017 at 12:07 PM ^
not USF....so its actually worse than USC-> Bama -> USF
February 7th, 2017 at 12:25 PM ^
So it's: Raiders -> Tenn -> USC -> Bama -> FAU
Tennessee to USC is a promotion in my book, but that's one vicious downward trajectory otherwise.

Bama and Saban will find almost always highly qualified people for their staff
February 7th, 2017 at 11:50 AM ^
Highly qualified people...like Chip Kelly.
Although I'm not sure if Saban would take Chip since he is likely to be one and done too.
EDIT: I stand corrected.

This article is a year old, but I guess means that he would at least be considered?
February 7th, 2017 at 1:00 PM ^
Oh, you're right. I blame the reporter that tweeted that out after the news of Sark to the Falcons came out.

I don't think Chip Kelly and Nick Saban's egos would fit in the same state.

Is the path to furthering your career?
February 7th, 2017 at 12:04 PM ^
I did that a lot for my summer job when I turned 21. It was only building a new house and half of another one but I was never asked to come back. Not a good career choice but man was it a fun summer. Kids, don't follow my path or you'll end up like me posting on a blog with comments like these.

Kiffen - Check
Sarkasian - Check
Upon further review, you are correct.

probably because he called such a great game against Clemson
February 7th, 2017 at 12:00 PM ^
That fourth quarter collapse against Clemson really impressed the Falcons.
February 7th, 2017 at 12:32 PM ^
Well it's not like they want to break precedent.......
There are certain standards of performance that should be expected of a Falcons staffer after all.
February 7th, 2017 at 4:39 PM ^
They probably did say to themselves, "If he can so easily walk away from what is working and go on some fantastic playcalling tangents in the second half and ultimately give the game away, imagine what he can do for us. Sold!"
