I am going to the NCAA men's soccer final 4 tonight in Santa Barbara. Just checking to see how many other Wolverine supporters will be there as well.... I hope we beat Akron, but I won't be upset if we don't.
that is nice bonus change
I thought the game was at 11 AM Eastern. I guess that's a little early (8 AM Pacific), isn't it? I hope you have a good time and the weather's nice as well. Go Blue, Beat Roo.
COLLEGE CUP TAILGATING INFO. - SANTA BARBARA
The pregame tailgate location for all Michigan fans and alumni will be in parking lot #16 next to Harder Stadium. There will be free food and drinks.
Look for the "Michigan" tent in parking lot #16 in advance of the game to connect with other maize and blue faithful. Game kicks off at 8pm vs Akron. The tailgate kicks off at 5pm.
This message was sent out to all the presidents to post on their websites for the U-M clubs of: LA, san Diego, san jose, orange county, and san Francisco. Turnout may be 100-200 people.
The Assc athl director at ucsb said they have a no alcohol policy on campus but look the other way on game days as long as there are no kegs and beer/drinks are in cups.
Ryan Yoder is the point person for "Tailgate Central." Please call or text him with any questions - 419-461-6665.
I may drive up! Negotiating with the woman as we speak! Might cost me a meal or 3 but hell, I love all things wolverine. DB, bring that Lacrosse home baby! I'll support! I'm missing Asquare as of late. (But not the weather...sorry!)
Make sure you tell her that soccer takes twice as long as it really does so you'll have extra time to celebrate the victory. My friend's wife is still under the impression that a round of golf takes 8-9 hours. Gives us more drinking time.
I wanted to make it to the game, but I work near LAX and don't know if I can make it out to SB by 8. Go Blue, though.
Santa Monica in the house?
Michigan has the best fans in the world.
I've been contemplating whether to make the drive up from North County San Diego, but that's quite the haul and I'll need to find overnight accomodations... which I'd totally do. However, that's a 3 hour drive without Friday rush hour traffic. Not so sure I can handle that.
You know you are going to hit traffic in Oceanside and probably again anywhere between Mission Viejo and Long Beach. Then we have LA which is another mess to deal with. So Cal driving really sucks.
IF you can afford it. It was north of 700USD when I was out there a few months ago to evaluate a supplier.
Yes, that Fess Parker of Daniel Boone fame. His estate makes wino also.
Who is broadcasting? BT Network or ESPN Ocho?
I thought I saw ESPNU
...ESPN3 -- hurrah!
Ok thanks for the info
It'll be on ESPNDeuce... Or ESPN2... whichever your prefer.
Not sure if I can make the game tonight though because of work... Hopefully they can get to the final on Sunday, I can make that one. Go Blue!
Go to Freebirds. Good food especially when you are drunk.
Yes, this is one of the best drunk food places ever (Its open 24 hours). I did happen to have some sober on Tuesday, it was still good.
It can feel pricey when you are sober since I think I paid around $10-12 for my meal last time. But when I was drunk I think I paid close to $25 which I had no problem doing.
I'll be stuck in A2 but glued to the TV. This team has been fun to watch all year... Go Blue!
Going to be a huge game!
TDS put up some videos of their press conference last night: http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer/college-soccer-archives/nid-19420/Confidence-excitement-before-College-Cup
Soony Saad for the win!
p.s. I don't care how much Freebirds costs, worth it every time
Already nervous about the traffic and hoping I can get out of here soon.
