Syracuse tears taste like Fanta.
Sample of Orange Flavored Schadenfreude
that Florida orange juice. Tastes like victory.
Did you know that the Coca-Cola company created the Fanta brand so they could market a soda in Nazi Germany? That's why I've never tasted that shit.
And don't buy any of that VW shit either.
This just in.... The war is over. /kronkite
Fanta still sucks though.
did you find the busted t.v. one??? I found that one quite hilarious.
I wanna know what Triche thinks of all their mismatches now.
Their mismatch was Fair, ours was McGary. The rest kind of washed out with our bench being the swing points.
That's my opinion. Our guards really seemed to cancel each other out.
Yep, reminds me of the Dallas defense coordinator who said Calvin Johnson would be the third best receiver on the Cowboys, two years ago.
Maybe he didn't go through the benches and account for Caris Morgan Spike Horford versus their 6 thru 9s? Boom.
Well, one thing they talked about was that Stauskas would have to deal with a mismatch. Some people on here kind of scoffed at that, but clearly they had a point. He was a non-factor and saw few minutes.
What had to kill them, though, were the three point daggers from Spike and another 30 footer from Trey. No defense can stop that. And their shooters were not on. Southerland had some open looks but only 1 fell in if I recall.
hahah thats funny.. i didn't know a hat could break an LCD tv. now i know and thats half the battle
Buddy of mine was upset when a goal was called back against the US national team in the last World Cup, and he threw an empty water bottle at the floor. It bounced off the floor and the cap end caught the tv in the corner...cracked and couldn't see the rest of the game.
Cause knowledge is power!
My tv is still working well! Ha suck it cuse fan.
damn. I feel legitimately bad for the guy who broke his TV with a hat
Feel bad for the hat!
Should have got a plasma.
have just a little more mass than a hat...
What are you, nine?
The Craft and McGary one made me smile.
Okay, I already posted this revised gif on the Muppet thread, but thought it was more fitting here.
that read Zesty. That's exactly what their tears taste like.
And no surprise here - Sparty melting down HARD right now on rcmb. God I love it.
I didn't think Syracuse was that bad. Not too different of reactions than here.
But I think RCMB's game thread was longer than ours....
This thread is entertaining. I particularly like page 2:
I think many of their fans are taking this game harder than Syracuse fans. It's one thing to melt down when your team loses a close game--it's Spartyesque when there's an epic melt down and the Spartans aren't even playing. I'm also pretty sure they've started more threads about Michigan's victory over there than we have on MgoBlog.
It's interesting that RCMB melts down. where as all of the Sparty fans on Reddit are congradulatory. Must be different breeds.
My in laws took it pretty well. I did decide to leave early in the first and head down to the bar so I didn't have to feel like I should be golf clapping when the team scored. All in all pretty nice fans. The SU players were also good in the post game presser, choosing to say the fouls could have gone either way.
If McGary and Aaron Craft had a baby I would punch it right in the face
DAMMIT REF I WASNT MOVING THAT MUCH ON MY MOVING SCREEN!!!
Felt bad for the guy -- he could hardly watch the end.
Sure, his 5th foul was a good call (1:14 left) , but the 4th one was iffy at best. At that point, they had the ball down four with 1:40 left. It was a pretty crucial turnover.
eh he flopped around a bunch and whined to the refs. Feel less sorry for him than anyone else.
I have no bone to pick with Syracuse. They made the Final Four and had a great season.
They thought they could get into the heads of a young team of freshmen and made it a strategy to trash talk a little before the game. Did not work any better than the 2-3 zone. They had to play the cards they had . . . Defense and an experienced team. Wasn't enough.
the game and the two close calls on MCW & Triche. (No whining, that's the way it goes...)
But, yeah, it seems like he took out his frustrations on the reporter who asked him if he would return for another year.
When Fine was accused of molestation, he shot off at the mouth without any evidence to disprove it, and nobody had the balls to call him out about it because he is such a jerk. Also, he's a major douche to the media after a loss; case in point tonight. It's one thing to be ornery, but another to be a sore loser, and a bully.
"Evidence to disprove" something that didn't happen is a weird way to shift a burden.
He kinda deserves better than the guys that surround him.
Well, he did go to the Final Four. It wasn't like he was LaVell Blanchard, doing his thing on a 10-win team.
I have no animosity towards them and I feel for a school stuck in two feet of snow from November through March. Good luck to them next year.
They played hard and for a minute I thought they might pull it out. Fair was uncanny and they had a few monster drive and dunks late, but we hit just enough free throws and shots.
The difference was really that McGary was either rebounding every miss or tipping it back out for us to chase down. It's an easy thing to realize but hard to drill down so the players will remember and do it every time down the court - kudos to Beilein and the staff for getting that in.
We kicked their ass. With our bench dammit.
Bring on Pitino.
Smart is no slouch.
I hope the guy who took out his LCD with a Syracuse hat doesn't buy any martial arts stars.
good game, syracuse. Sure their schadenfreude is enjoyable because it means we won, but I'll derive much more enjoyment from the tears from the toolbags on RCMB and 11w after we win Monday.
Honestly, who gives a shit was the Spartans think? They're already over there drafting up their rationalizations for how this season for Michigan is fluke and the gap between Izzo and Beilein won't be closed until we make 5 or 6 additional Final Fours. The logic is so flawed, I feel stupider just being exposed to it.
....had the right attitude, I think:
"It could be worse. We could be Georgetown fans."
A few sensible people in that thread did choose to look at the larger picture of the tournament, so that was nice to see anyway.
I'm thinking about what these boards would look like if the game went the other way, and I can imagine a lot worse!
What are you taking pleasure in their misery? We won, be gracious and act classy.
These kinds of posts need to be deleted and purged from the board. Serves no purpose. And yes, that is why I viewed and commented the post to tell you your an immature idiot.
(its just sports, dude)
Just because they stopped fellating the length and speed of the 2-3 zone once Michigan started tearing it apart.
I sympathize with TV guy. I thought about, and restrained myself from, smashing a glass on the ground at the outdoor bar I was at, at a few points near the end. Luckily the waiter came and took the empties right around then. EMOTIONS.
Yeah, I'm not feeling that sympathetic for the Orange fanbase.
Their analysis leads me to believe that they scouted the game even less than the team did. They seem to believe that everyone except Burke on Michigan's team had "career" games, and that Boeheim "completely" outcoached Beilein, and that Michigan didn't win, Syracuse merely shot themselves in the foot.
They seem to forget that Michigan was a three-point shooting team who can knock 30+ footers down (hell, I guess just watching a few games from the past week would tell you that Burke's range is everything), McGary can hit jumpers from the foul line and can rocket around passes from anywhere on the court, Morgan plays good inside defense, etc.
Delectable. I could get used to these deep tournament runs.
